1.3.3.5 Dispatching ESD Modules
► Always store modules and components in conductive packaging (e.g. metalized plastic bags
or metal sleeves) and dispatch them in conductive packaging.
► If the packaging is not conductive, place the modules in a conductive envelope before
packaging. Use conductive expanded rubber, ESD bags, domestic aluminum foil or paper, for
example.
► If the module has integral batteries, ensure that the conductive packaging does not touch or
short-circuit the battery terminals and, if necessary, first cover the terminals with insulating
tape or material.

This manual describes the installation of the Prepare Kit in an unprepared SIPLACE SX+ or SX1
machine.

2.1 Overview
This section provides an overview of the SIPLACE SX machine variants.
NOTICE
This manual supplements the gantry modularity assembly instructions (00196626-xx).
2.1.1 Machine Variants

prefitted for one gantry. To upgrade to SX2, please
contact your SIPLACE Service team.

One gantry The machine has been prepared for a gantry upgrade
(SX2), i.e. two trailing cables and three GCUs are pre-
fitted for two gantries.
SX2 Two gantries The machine can be downgraded to a SX1 prepared.
It is then prepared for a gantry upgrade to SX2, i.e.
two trailing cables and three GCUs are fitted.

Prepare Kit [00519810-xx] is taken as an example to illustrate the installation.
The installation of the other Prepare Kits is the same.
SIPLACE SX1/SX2 with serial number from Nxxxx onwards:
These machines require Prepare Kit [03105008-xx] for machines with an X module upgrade.
The installation of Prepare Kit [03105008-xx] is the same as for [00519810-xx].
Differences:

MGCU2 instead of GCU
●
The MGCU support is different to the GCU support.
SIPLACE SX1/SX2 with serial number from Pxxxx onwards:
These machines require the Prepare Kit [03138211-xx] for machines with MGCU3 (full mode).
The installation of the Prepare Kit [03138211-xx] is the same as of [00519810-xx].
Differences:

The MGCU support is different to the GCU support.
