3.3 Gantry Preparations
The gantry is packed in a transportation crate. You need the gantry lift to transport the gantry.
3.3.1 The Gantry Lift
The gantry lift is needed for transportation and assembly purposes. Also observe the following instruc-
tions:

The gantry may only be transported with the help of the gantry lift.

Please consult the operating guide supplied for details of how to handle the gantry lift and for
all safety-relevant aspects. Observe the instructions therein.

the gantry.
WARNING
Verification
► The operator is obligated to check the lifting assistance for visible damage at least once at
shift start or in case of an abnormality, anomaly, event and to give notice of such damage
immediately.
WARNING
Brake, wheels
► Lock the wheels by pushing the brake rod down/forward as far as possible before loading
or unloading the lifting assistance.
► Lock the foot brake after every moving procedure and/or after arriving the required position
in order to prevent inadvertent rolling of the lifting assistance. Release the brake before
moving it again.

WARNING
Stability, obstacles
► The platform must be always brought to the lowest position during the use of the lifting as-
sistance as transportation unit (within the moving procedure). The load must be put always
centrically (in the emphasis) on the platform (this varies possibly in case of individual prep-
arations) in order to achieve highest possible stability (tilt resistance) during moving proce-
dure. Particularly pay attention when moving the lifting assistance to obstacles such as door
limits, cables on the ground and also check the driving through height with the height of the
gantry lift slide. By the small wheel diameter used depending upon configuration also small-
er obstacles can cause an abrupt deceleration or with contact only on a wheel an inadvert-
ent direction change.
► If the load is not completely lowered the lifting assistance may tilt or (in case of insufficiently
secured load) the load may fall down depending upon driving speed and kind of the obsta-
cle. Thus, always lead the lifting assistance with appropriate speed, particularly in curves
and with changing or uneven soil conditions. Fasten the load always sufficiently before
transporting it in order to surely avoid inadvertent falling down and/or reduce the transpor-
tation speed that also an unsecured load cannot glide from the load pickup in case of an
abrupt deceleration.
► Likewise the load must not come into oscillations during the transport . Thereby inadvertent
reactions can occur.

Fixtures
► Never loosen the fastening of loads, if these are still in use. Always ensure a safe standing
of the load before release it.
WARNING
Ergonomics
► Always make sure that the platform and the surface on which the load is putted down and/
or be taken up are on the same height (varies in case of individual preparations).
The load must be pulled of the platform and/or pushed onto it (not elevated/carried) in order
to work in an ideal ergonomic position!
WARNING
Risk of injury
► When using mobile (tiltable, swivelling, inclinable) load pickup devices always make sure
that no own or different parts of the body and also no other obstacles are to be located in
the entire movement range of load and load pickup devices.

CAUTION!
Safety Instructions
Pay attention to the weight of approximately 64 kg when
unpacking the transport wrapper!
Use appropriate tools or call further qualified persons.
The gantry lift has to be locked sufficiently when trans-
porting it again in order to eliminate any danger.
Fitting the gantry carrier plate
To enable the gantry lift to accommodate the gantry, the
gantry carrier plate (2) must be fitted to the slide (1) of the
gantry lift.
► Use the 4 fastening screws (3) to fix the gantry carrier
plate (2) to the slide (1) of the gantry lift.
CAUTION!
Information on savety
Mount all 8 screws with the associated washers and tight-
en them with 18 Nm.
