8.4 SIPLACE Traceability Version 3.5
Software version 3.5 of SIPLACE Traceability supports the SIPLACE X-series, SX-series and DX-
series placement machines.
Compatible mode: SIPLACE Traceability 3.3.

9 Restrictions
No support for:
– S-tables
– S-feeders
– C&P6 placement heads
– 2D coplanarity
– Recipe size controlled assembly
X-Feeder
Because of the mirrored gantry configuration, the number of the available tracks on gantry 2 and 4
on the X4i, SX4 and DX4 placement machines are restricted, not all of the tracks can be reached
by the placement heads. Feeders set on non-reachable tracks are deactivated automatically.
Number of nozzle changer magazines
Because of the mirrored gantry configuration, the number of configurable nozzle changer
magazines on gantry 2 and 4 on the X4i, SX4 and DX4 placement machines is limited to 4
magazines.
Nozzle types
– Nozzle types of the 4xx, 5xx, 8xx and 9xx series are not supported by the X4i, SX4 and DX4
placement machines.
– Nozzle types of the 4xx, 5xx, 8xx, 9xx, 10xx, 11xx and 12xx series are not supported by the
CPP placement head.
Board barcode
– The board barcode is limited to 40 characters.
– Quad Lane conveyor is not supported in combination with board barcode.
Fiducial patterns
Asymmetric fiducial patterns (e.g. triangles) can currently only be used if the board is processed at
an orientation of 0° in the machine.
X-table
An additional table fiducial is necessary for the gantries 2 and 4 on the X4i and SX4 placement
machines.
Twin Head/HFH
– Twin Head/HFH are not supported on the X4i and DX4 placement machines.
– Not vacuum pump compatible.
– Not all pickup, dip and placement positions are accessible for both segments on the SX1/SX2
and SX4 placement machines.

CPP placement head
– Restrictions for the X2, X3, X4, X4i and SX4 placement machines can be found in the
correspondent User Guides to the X-series and in the Version Description to SIPLACE Pro.
– Not vacuum pump compatible.
– Not supported on DX series placement machines.
Reduced air consumption with vacuum pump
No support for CPP placement heads and Twin Head.
VHF P&P head
Supported on the SX1/SX2 V2 placement machine only.
Automatic tray feeding
The function is not supported on the X4i, SX4 and DX4 placement machines.
Quad Lane conveyor
– Quad Lane conveyor is not supported on the X2, X3, SX1/SX2, DX1/DX2 and DX4 placement
machines.
– A Quad Lane job from SIPLACE Pro will always download one recipe for both sub-lanes. It is
not possible downloading one recipe to sub-lane xL and another recipe to sub-lane xR.
– If a single board is downloaded in Quad Lane transport mode, it has to be produced on the
outer sub-lane of the lane pairs, i.e. on 2L or 1R.
– X4 and X4i placement machines: The outer side panels of the sub lanes 2L and 1R are set to
21 inch in the outer position. However, if the placement machines are not exactly in line to each
other, boards might get stuck on handing them over. Therefore the outer side panels can be
manually extended to an over-width of 540 mm. In SIPLACE Pro the maximum width remains
by 535mm.
– Barcode scanner is not supported.
– Due to the reachability of the board camera, asynchronous operation mode with maximum
width is not possible on the X4i placement machine (instead of that, operation in I-Placement
mode).
– Depending on board geometry and placements there might be increased interference with the
gantries in I-Placement mode.
– SIPLACE Traceability and TraceHost are not supported.
– 3rd party traceability systems are only supported on OIS SIS basis.
– The line can only be operated in Quad Lane transport mode and cannot be combined with
single or dual conveyor machines.
