At least one pin feeder must be inserted in
track 1 at each component table. You can
set up more than one pin feeder per compo-
nent table (up to and including track25).
The pin feeders on track1 must not be
removed from the component tables as they
provide the table fiducial. For the production,
additional pin feeders can be removed and
replaced by other feeders after the support
pins have been picked up.
Placing the pin feeder

► Hold the pin feeder with both hands
and push it on track1 into the compo-
nent table.
ð The pin feeder is automatically re-
cognized and calibrated by the sta-
tion software. The button on the pin
feeder lights green.
ð If support pins are needed, these
will be automatically picked up and
placed.
Removing the pin feeder

► Press the button (1) on the pin feeder.
ð The pin feeder is logged off. The
button does not light any longer.
► Pull the pin feeder out of the compo-
nent table.

3.6 Final work
When a SIPLACE Tray Unit is installed, always observe the information in section 2.3.1 "Parts re-
quired for the SPS option in SIPLACE TX V2 machines with SIPLACE Tray Unit installed" [}59].

► Refit the waste container.
► Switch on the machine.
► Check whether both pin pickers are set
to Installed in the station software.

Calibration

Calibration
Due to the changed machine zero point, the new table fiducials and the changed travel
ranges, the machine must be re-calibrated (machine zero point, x and Y travel ranges, PCB
reference corner).

3.6.1 Calibrating the pin pickers, lifting tables and pin feeders
► Start the Automatic Calibration in the Service view of the station software.
In the following dialog box you are prompted to select the required calibration steps.

► Select Select all steps that have to
be done to perform the calibrations
mentioned above.
or
► Select Select calibration steps →
Combined steps → Pin picker cali-
bration.
► Select Gantries.
► Click Next.
ð The conveyor width is automatically
set correctly, i.e. so that at least one
support pin can be placed on every
lifting table.
The following dialog box will appear if a support pin is missing:

► Open the cover.
► Put the support pin into the pin picker.
► Close the cover.
► Click on the Continue button.
The following dialog box will appear if a calibration garage is occupied:

► Click on the Move pin picker to ser-
vice position button.
The gantry moves to the service position for
Smart Pin Support and you will be prompted
to remove the support pin from the garage
and put it into the pin picker.
► Open the cover.
► Remove the support pin from the cali-
bration garage.
► Close the cover.
► Click on the Continue button.
► Once all preconditions have been ful-
filled, click on the Start button.
In the following dialog box the calibration result is displayed.
