B-4 Is the ratchet (sprocket) advancing correctly for the tape feed stroke (8 mm)?
Set the feeder on the D-shaft table and move it to the pick-up point. Use I/O to
remove the 1st stopper, and set the cam shaft to 183˚ to 237˚ with the inching key
(on the CP-65, set to 184˚ to 235˚).
Check that the required feed operation is executing normally.
Checking the Ratchet Movement
B-5 Try Changing the Tape Feed Spring Force
Refer to section 2.1 “Disassembling the Feeder” of Chapter 2 of this part for details
on changing the tape feed spring.
C Low pick-up ratio, but not accompanied by the above
C-1 Is the part pick-up point offset?
Use an inspection instrument to measure the sprocket stop position.
Inspection instrument : DT-551 Feeder Pick-up Position

C-2 Is the sprocket stop position stable?
Measure in the same way as C-1.
C-3 Is the part (parts tape) set as per the nozzle and tape leaf specification?
When the parts tape is set into the feeder, check that it is in accordance with nozzle
and tape leaf specifications.
Refer to section 1.9 “Selecting a Tape Leaf” of Chapter 1 of this part for details.
C-4 Is the tape leaf deformed?
Use a flatness measurement tool to make sure the W8 mm tape feeder tape leaf is
free of warping and twisting.

For shutter-type tape leaf units, stand the tape leaf vertically and verify that the
shutter drops under its own weight (simple test). Also check that there is no
looseness in the shutter, and no deformation in the U-slot.
