Computer Viruses
When a program or data is corrupted abruptly, the computer makes unexpected system
behavior, or an abnormal window appears on the operation panel, the computer may be
infected with a virus.
Computer viruses are bad programs written to deliberately invade a computer system
without its user's permission or knowledge. They can perform a triggered event or corrupt
your precious data.
Antivirus programs are called "Vaccines" and used to remove or repair infected programs
and files.
A virus-infected computer may spread the virus to other computers through
communication systems or by sharing diskettes (data storage media) between different
computers.
Use a vaccine program to check if the built-in computer is infected with a virus if
necessary.
Keep in mind that a computer virus cannot be removed, depending on what type of
vaccine program you are using.
For this case, book the backup of data beforehand.
Power Failure
Instantaneous voltage drop due to power failure or lightning will cause the built-in
computer to break down and the basic and application programs to corrupt.
It is recommended that a DC uninterruptive power supply be used as a countermeasure
against instantaneous voltage drop.
Built-In Computer
A computer is built in the machine and used to control each internal mechanism of the
machine, save various data, and realize a user interface.
When the power switch of the machine is turned off while the computer is working
(computer being accessed), the computer may break down, causing the stored data and
application programs to corrupt.
Refer to "Power OFF Operation" in "Chapter 3 (Vol. 1: Guide)" for how to turn off the
power switch of the machine.

Note on Startup Operation (Running-In Operation)
After the machine has been stopped for a long period of time, perform a running-in
operation for approximately 30 minutes to smoothly start up the machine.
About Industrial Alcohol
Industrial alcohol must be used as cleaning solvent for this machine.
It is inflammable and acutely toxic.
Do not inhale high-density vapor even for a short period of time nor low-density one for a
long time. Otherwise, organic solvent poisoning will be caused.
In addition, vapor becomes an explosive gas if mixed with air.
When maintenance work is commenced, using industrial alcohol, be sure not to inhale
vapor during the work. Industrial alcohol must also be handled carefully because it can
catch fire very easily due to heat of fire, static electricity, sparks, etc.
Obtain the material safety data sheet (MSDS) from the maker and check the contents
described in detail for correct use of the alcohol.
Use the industrial alcohol described in Table 1 for this machine.
Table 1
Maker Product Name
DAN Chemical Co., Ltd Denatured Ethanol AP-7
Japan Alcohol
Trading Co., Ltd SOLMIX AP-7
When the industrial alcohol in Table 1 is unavailable, follow the mixture ratio in Table 2.
Table 2
Chemical Element CAS No. Mixture Ratio
Ethyl Alcohol 64-17-5 80 to 90%
Normal Propanol 71-23-8 5 to 10%
Isopropyl Alcohol 67-63-0 5% or less
Never use any solvents other than those (mixed using the specified elements in
accordance with the specified ratio) described in
Table 2. Avoid using acetone,
methanol (methyl alcohol), and other solvents mixed with water or water and
another solvent.
If such a solvent is used, it will cause safety and functional problems.
Any accident or breakdown due to the use of a solvent other than the specified
one causes the given warranty to be invalidated and the manufacturer freed from
all liability.

Safety Precautions
About Countermeasures against Fire
When a fire breaks out, follow the steps below.
Try to put out the fi
re with a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher.
Move the flammable and combustible liquid containers away from heat sources.
Be sure to wear protective equipment used to extinguish fires.
About Fire Extinguisher
Set up a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher near the machine.
About Exclusion of Ignition Source
Avoid smoking and using fire when near the device.
Avoid using electrical products that have contact points when near the device.
When handling industrial alcohol in dry seasons, prior to working touch a metal surface
of the machine at a point away from the industrial alcohol to remove static electricity.
