Chapter 2. Operation of the Tape Feeder

2.1. Installing the Tape

Remove the locker by pressing the tape guide toward the direction of the arrow and

dismantle the gape guide.

Caution

 Be sure to mount tapes in a safe place and make sure

that fingers don’t get stuck during the process.

 Do not handle the feeder with excessive force.

 Be sure to follow the specified sequence.

 When transporting a large feeder, be careful not to

drop it.

 Be sure to use a standard tape such as EIAJ or

JEDEL for the feeder.

 Use only the right size component reel tape for the

feeder.

 If the front part of tape guide(the area touching the

lock cover) is deformed, the Z axis position of

component pick up will be changed, which might

deteriorate the component adsorption rate. Take

special care when storing and using it.

Caution

Dismantling the feeder could cause damage or injury. If a

feeder malfunctions, please contact our designated C/S

company(STS).

The procedure lifting the tape guide is as follows. (8mm NST, 0603 disposal type tape

feeder)

1. Pull the locker outward lifting the locker upward slightly. (Refer to Figure 2-3, Figure

2-4)

2. Lift the tape guide upward. (Refer to Figure 2-3, Figure 2-4)
