5.4 New S feeder: Shutterless S feeder 3x8mm SL
The station software supports a new S feeder type, called "Shutterless S Feeder, 3x8mm SL"
The feeder has two pickup positions:
- one for components with ≤ 0,8mm width
- one for components with > 0,8 mm width
The functionality and properties of the shutterless s feeder is the same as for standard S feeder.
Restrictions
The shutterless S feeder requires SIPLACE Pro 5.0.
5.5 Support of OIS/SIS
Two OIS events were added.
Thus, the station software notifies OIS, whether or not the machine is in stand alone mode.
5.6 Fine calibration enabled
As of this version the fine calibration is unrestricted enabled .
5.7 Synchronization of data provision
Integration of the "Mobilink" patch
In order to avoid data provision problems on a job change, the Setup Center only sends the data to
the station when data preparation has been completed and the new job has been specified by
SIPLACE Pro. The Setup Center and the station are synchronized when a job is specified.
5.8 Revision of the dual conveyor
Up to now, the PCB barcode was restricted to 2 x 12 characters on the synchronous dual conveyor.
This restriction has been lifted. 2 x 40 characters are permitted.

5.9 External reading of the machine ID
The machine ID can be read by the SIPLACE Pro software as for version 3.0. (station computer
interface). The Machine ID is
prerequisite for the following software:
- Setup Center as for version 2.2
- OIS as for version 4.1
- SIPLACE Explorer as for version 2.1
You are asked for the machine id when installing the station software. For details see the installation
manual (00193796-xx).
5.10 Improved placement quality
Placement quality has been improved in the following respects:
- Minimization of missing components on the board
- Detection of missing components on the board
- Minimization the risk of head crashes
This was achieved by implementing additional functions.
- vacuum check for detecting placement errors
- any monitoring functions:
valve plunger position
lower light barrier
15 VDC power supply
upper light barrier of the DLM head
stepper motor boards (short cut monitoring)
dp switch-in function
Note:
On the GUI, additional error messages could appear during the placement process. Because
of the additional monitoring functions which have been implemented to improve the placement
quality.
Vacuum check
In order to detect missing components and placement errors, an additional vacuum measurement
and the associated evaluation have been implemented.

Software Version Description, Station Software 505.05 07/2008 Edition
1. The vacuum values are compared after the component has been picked up and before it is
placed. If the vacuum value is significantly larger before placement, it is assumed that the
valve plunger is in an incorrect position, which may cause components to be lost.
The board is stopped in the output conveyor and an error message is issued.
The board must be checked for placement errors.
2. During the reference run, the threshold for the vacuum check is intensified.
Note:
If the vacuum check causes error messages with respect to the vacuum value appear too
frequently, please consult your service engineer.
Restrictions
- The vacuum check only works on modular DLM heads.
- The vacuum check and the Z height check both depend on the nozzle. They only apply to the
nozzle types specified in the database.
- The additional checks may lead to a higher rejection rate.
