Note:
The maximum conveyor width in a machine line is determined by the machine with the lowest
maximum conveyor width.
Note:
For more information, refer to the SIPLACE HS-60 retrofitting instructions for excess-width
PCBs (242/508 mm) (item no. 00194579-01).
5.32.1 Requirements
- Sitest:
You can only set the maximum conveyor width (move the fixed edge) by using the
reconfiguration function in Sitest. The programming system cannot be used to control this.
- Selection of the maximum conveyor width:
The operator can choose between two possible maximum conveyor widths: standard width and
excess width.
5.32.2 Restrictions
- Restarting:
After you change the conveyor configuration by means of "Adjust position of fixed edge" Æ
"Standard width"/"Excess width", the machine has to be shut down and restarted to apply the
values for the PCB reference corner and the height reference point (machine data preparation).
- Teaching of PCB reference corners:
After you change the conveyor configuration by means of "Adjust position of fixed edge" Æ
"Standard width"/"Excess width", the PCB reference corners have to be re-taught, since the
adjustment of the conveyor edges is subject to tolerances.
- Setting the PCB conveyor width:
After you change the conveyor configuration by means of "Adjust position of fixed edge" Æ
"Standard width"/"Excess width", you have to set the desired PCB conveyor width. The PCB
conveyor width set previously is not set, since calibration operations have to be carried out. The
purpose of this feature is to allow wider PCBs to be assembled (and thus to allow a new
conveyor width).
- Fine calibration:
After you change the conveyor configuration by means of "Adjust position of fixed edge" Æ
"Standard width"/"Excess width", fine calibration or a machine capability analysis (MFU) has to
be carried out because the calibration points have moved with the PCB reference corner.

Add-on modules:
If add-on modules are installed within the travel range that prevent the fixed edge from being
moved (e.g. ceramic substrate centering), you cannot change the conveyor configuration by
means of "Adjust position of fixed edge" Æ "Standard width"/"Excess width".
- Dual conveyor:
Both tracks on the dual conveyor are treated in the same way. Individual widths are not set.
- Flexible dual conveyor:
Only the outer edge is adjusted on the flexible dual conveyor. The movable edges remain at the
edge.
- Excess-width conveyor:
If the stop is to be changed from right to left on an HS60 with a conveyor configured for excess
width, the stop has to be configured first, followed by the conveyor width.
- Subsequent actions:
After you change the conveyor configuration changed by means of "Adjust position of fixed
edge" Æ "Standard width"/"Excess width", you have to restart the machine and carry out
calibration. It is up to the operator to perform these subsequent actions.
In addition:
- Machines that support the "wide conveyor" feature:
The "wide conveyor" feature (changing of the conveyor configuration by means of "Adjust
position of fixed edge" Æ "Standard width"/"Excess width") is supported for machines in the HF
series and HS60 machine types. Machines of the type S25 HM / S27 HM, HS50 / HS50+ do not
support this feature.
- Feeders
Only S-tape feeders can be set up, since the widening of the placement area results in the
overlapping of the pickup and placement areas when other feeders are used. Linear feeders,
manual trays, MTCs and tray stack feeders, for example, are not among the standard feeders.
The hardware determines which feeders can be used.
One possibility for subsequent versions would be to modify the pick-up and placement areas so
that other feeder types could also be used with the help of the gantry synchronization feature.

Mapping
There is no new mapping plate available with a width of 430 mm. This results in the following
restrictions:
If the machine zero point is moved outward, mapping is always carried out by means of
conveyor configuration ("Adjust position of fixed edge" Æ "Standard width"/"Excess width
HS60").
The maximum conveyor width in conjunction with the feature "flexible dual conveyor with
widened conveyor track" is 380 mm (not 430 mm) when "excess width HS60" is set for the
position of the fixed conveyor edge. This must be ensured by the conveyor firmware.
If the machine zero point is moved and "standard width" is set for the position of the fixed edge,
the maximum conveyor width in conjunction with the feature "flexible dual conveyor with
widened conveyor track" is only 330 mm (not 430 mm). This must be ensured by the conveyor
firmware.
If the machine zero point is moved outward, a mapping width of 508 mm is possible with the
single conveyor. The maximum conveyor widths must be ensured by the conveyor firmware.
- Programming system:
The "synchronous dual conveyor" feature is not supported in conjunction with the "wide
conveyor" feature, since the spacing of the PCB reference corners changes.
- Programming system/optimization:
Optimization does not take into account that the travel paths change with the feature.
5.33 Whispering of ink spots
In Version 505.03 the "whispering of ink spots" functionality (i.e. the forwarding of ink-spot data) is
available both for the line (WDTL) and in a machine with two processing areas (WDTM).
5.33.1 Requirements
- Whispering requires every station in the line to be equipped with PCB barcode readers.
- PCB barcode mode must be set both for the stations in the line and for the line itself in the
programming system.
- In whispering mode, the ink-spot recognition option must be activated on every station in every
processing area (PA).
