4.3 Standard Settings and Final Administration
Default settings
Screen resolution: 1024 x 786, 24-bit (16 mill.) Colors, 60 Hz Refresh Frequency
Time Zone: GMT (London, Edinburgh, Lisbon)
Network Protocol: TCP/IP
In addition to the default user groups of Windows XP, the following users and user groups are configured:

Station Computer
User: Operator, Siemens-Techniker (Siemens Technician), Einrichter (Engineer)
User groups: _Operator, _Einrichter, _Siemens-Techniker
Vision Computer
User: Operator, Siemens-Techniker, Einrichter, VisionDCOM
User groups: _Operator, _Einrichter, _Siemens-Techniker
Line Computer basic
User: Siemens, plr or Siplace (depending on password complexity setting), SIPLACEServices,
SIPLACEAdmin
Note:
If the computer you have installed is equipped with a CRT (cathode ray tube), please set the
refresh frequency to a higher value. The default value of 60 Hz is preset for TFT displays.

Passwords
Station Computer
Administrator
After the unattended setup, the default password for the local administrator is MS128. Please assign a new
password for your administrator!
Operator
The default user „Operator“ has the default password “operator”. Please do not change the password.
Otherwise the automatic logon is not possible.
Engineer
The user „Einrichter“ will be used for further options. The default password is “einrichter”. This user
doesn’t have further rights!
Siemens- Technician
The user „Siemens-Techniker“ will be used by SIPLACE service. The SIPLACE Service Personnel knows
the password. Don’t change the password!
Administrator Group
The user „ Siemens-Techniker“ is in the local administrator group. Don’t remove this user from the group.
Otherwise the Support Personnel can’t perform any maintenance.
Other settings
The passwords never expire!
Vision Computer
Administrator
After the unattended setup, the default password for the local administrator is MS128. Please assign a new
password for your administrator!

Line Computer basic – simple Password complexity
Administrator
For the local administrator the unattended setup uses the default password “MS128”. It is recommended to
assign a new password.
Siemens
This user should be used as replacement for the builtin- Administrator account. The password of this user
is equal to the password of the builtin- Administrator.
Plr
The default user „plr“ uses the default password “plr”.
SIPLACEServices
The user “SIPLACEServices“ is created for the COM+ components. The password must not be changed.
Otherwise the necessary rights of the SIPLACEPro Components are missed.

Administrator group
The user “SIPLACEAdmin“ is defined in the local administrator group. This user must not be removed
from the group. Otherwise the SIPLACE service technician can not perform any maintenance. The
password is known by the SIPLACE Service. The password must not be changed.
Other settings depend on the configuration specified by the user.
