1 General
1.1 Intended use
Warning:
This operating system can only be used for SIPLACE computers (SIPLACE Pro
programming systems, SIPLACE Station computers, SIPLACE Vision computers) in a
workgroup within the SIPLACE net.
This DVD contains the installation software for an adapted operating system for SIPLACE products.
SIPLACE has the sole responsibility for executing this software.
SIPLACE provides support for this product.
This manual describes the Windows XP unattended setup for SIPLACE computers in a workgroup.
The unattended setup was developed by SIPLACE to execute a quick, complete and adapted
installation of Windows XP professional on SIPLACE computers, including the requirements for SIPLACE
line products.
The setup can be performed on SIPLACE computer systems with the required configuration as described
in chapter 3 “Requirements
”.
Since the delivered DVD-ROM is bootable, the installation is automatically started after rebooting the
system.
The setup of Windows XP professional can only be performed in English language.
During the installation, information about the system configuration has to be entered (see chapter 3.2
“Required configuration parameters
”).
Warning:
If you change the hardware configuration radically (e.g. exchange of the mainboard type), a
reinstallation of the unattended setup is required.

2 Scope of delivery
Two different Installation Packages are available:
• Complete Package with license
• Media Package without license
Both packages contain:
• Software WinXP-SP2 and WinXP-SP3 for machines & SIPLACE Pro:
• Boot DVD-ROM for the operating system Windows XP Professional SP2 and SP3 (“Windows XP
Unattended Setup DVD 4.2”)
• Boot CDROM for operating system Windows XP Professional-SP2 (“Windows XP Unattended Setup
2.08”)
• Boot CDROM for operating system Windows XP Professional-SP3 (“Windows XP Unattended Setup
CD V3.0”)
• Installation manual for Windows XP (unattended setup) DVD V4.2
