8.4 Setup Verification with Random Setup
Random Setup gives operators greater configuration flexibility, allowing components to be set up on any
track of the same table or on another table in the line. If SIPLACE Setup Center is running in Random
Setup mode, feeders can be configured during the production process, without the need for a new down-
load of the setup. For example, this enables you to set up spare tracks during ongoing production. These
spare tracks can either be for additional components of the same type or for alternative components.
8.5 Setup Verification with Waffle Pack Tray Feeders
Tray feeders are displayed as follows in the SIPLACE Setup Center (in this example we see an MTC2):
8.5.1 Online Setup Verification with Waffle Pack Tray Feeders
Setup verification of a tray feeder is similar to normal online setup verification.
Using the reader:
Follow the next steps.
Scan in the machine ID barcode.
Select "Table check" from the menu.
The barcode reader display will ask you to scan in the packaging unit barcode label.
Scan the barcodes one after the other.
Repeat steps 3 and 4, until all tray feeder levels have been verified.
Errors will be reported in the same manner as those in normal online setup verification.

the barcode has been scanned in, Step 4 will begin.
8.5.3 Spare Tracks on the MTC
SIPLACE Pro Desk
The functions for configuring spare tracks in the MTC/WPC need to be activated in the SIPLACE Pro
Desk Setup Editor.
Start SIPLACE Pro Desk.
Open the Setup Editor.
Select the tab for the relevant station.
Go to the Setup Editor => Random Setup and select the option Arbitrary Level.
Setup Center
Levels marked with an asterisk (2) do not contain a component in the target setup. These levels can be
used as dynamic spare tracks.
