Log-on of external computers
With this menu option it is possible to log external computers of the customer’s network onto the com-
puter system. These so-called external computers may be other line computers or the customers host
computers.

The UNIX window "Change hosts & automount configuration" opens.
Enter the root password at the cursor position and then press the RETURN key.
Respond to the query as to whether changes are to be made with

and confirm by pressing RETURN.
Enter the Host name (name of the external computer) and confirm by pressing RETURN.
Respond to the following query as to whether the name is correct with

Change network configuration
This menu option is used to directly start the ‘netconfig’ program for the configuration of the network.
The selection of this option therefore requires that special caution be exercised. Prior to starting the
program the operator should be knowledgeable about which options must be selected for a correct
configuration.
Primarily, the ’netconfig’ program for the configuration of the LAN connection (output of the LAN card)
is used.
Click on

Change network configuration

The "Change network configuration" UNIX window opens.
Enter the root password at the cursor position and then press the RETURN key.
The following network configuration possibilities can be selected from:
1. Add a chain
2. Remove a chain
3. Reconfigure an element in a chain
q. Quit

In the following, examples are provided of the procedures to be observed for the configuration of the
LAN connection.
To set the output of the LAN card to BNC output, the following entries (number of option, or "y" or "n")
are to be made. After each entry, the RETURN key must be pressed.

Shut the computer system down using the

quently reboot.
The line computer system is now started with the new network configuration.

Install GF-Bibliothek
This menu option enables you to install a new GF library into the "Master data" directory from
diskette. When so doing, all standard package forms (range 1 ... 1500) already contained in the
"Master data/GF-Bibliothek" library will be replaced.

Line configuration

Only SIPLACE machines
The
Only SIPLACE machines
button is activated by default. This setting is to be maintained if the
active line comprises exclusively SIPLACE machines.
If the line consists of one or more HS-180 machines, the
Only SIPLACE machines
button needs to
be deactivated.
Options

Maintain handling data
If this button is activated, only
the vision data of the standard package forms will be overwritten.
If the button is deactivated (default setting), both the vision and
the handling data of the standard
package forms will be overwritten

Search for similar package forms
If this button is activated, all customer-specific package forms within the range from 1501 to 2047 will
automatically be compared for similarity with the new standard package forms, after the new GF
library has been installed.
If the button is deactivated, (default setting), no similarity comparison will be carried out.
