Unplug the sensor cable connector from the coplanarity sensor (see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 1). If necessary,
remove the 2 cable clips on the sensor cable to do so (see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 9 and 10:
two washers, two M 4 x 8 socket-hex cap screws).
Undo the screws fastening the coplanarity sensor to the sensor bracket (three M 4 x 8 socket-hex cap
screws: see Fig. 12.6.8 -> Pos. 8) and remove the sensor.
Attention: At least one of the 2 screws can be secured with Loctite, but has to be loosened anyway.
Mount the new coplanarity sensor (Item No.: see Section 12.6.2) on the sensor bracket
(three M 4 x 3 socket-hex cap screws: see Fig. 12.6.8 -> Pos. 8).
Do not tighten the screws completely yet.
Using a bubble level (accuracy = 0.4 mm/m) align the coplanarity sensor to the left-hand, vertical outside
edge of the sensor housing such that the sensor is exactly perpendicular to the IC-Head (Pick & Place
head).
If necessary, use a metal square to check that it is vertical.
Screw the sensor down in the leveled position. New: Do not apply Loctite on the screws !
Securely plug the sensor cable connector into the coplanarity sensor.
If necessary, re-attach the 2 cable clips to the sensor cable (see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 9 and 10:
two washers, two M 4 x 8 socket-hex cap screws).
Assemble the machine as described in Section 12.6.14 "Final Steps".
The next step is to check the safety circuit (see Section 12.6.15) and the calibration of the coplanarity
option.

NOTE
If the dust cover installed is still a plastic one (= earlier model), this must be replaced by a metal one.
Perform the die "Preparatory Steps" (see Section 12.6.6) up to and including the dismantling of the compo-
nent table or move the component changeover table out of the machine. If a WPC is installed, move it out
of the machine.
Undo the screws fastening the dust cover to the machine base, under the PCB conveyor module (three or
four washers and M4 socket-hex cap screws, see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 15).
Assemble the individual components of the metal dust cover (see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 15) in such a manner that
the free area of the conveyor trench has maximum coverage and, depending on the option installed, the
appropriate openings are available for flip-chip camera, coplanarity sensor (laser) with square, sensor
cable and sensor connector.
Place the dust cover in the conveyor trench in so that it is resting on the pertinent contact surfaces of the
sensor bracket (see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 12).
Screw the dust cover to the machine base (three or four washers and M 4 socket-hex screws: see Fig.
12.6.8 -> 15).

NOTE:
The ICOS of earlier control units may also be located in the bottom row of plug-in slots.
CAUTION O
When pulling out and pushing in the coplanarity processing unit, be careful not to damage or pinch any
cables or subject them to strain.
Unplug the connectors of the "sensor cable coplanarity" and the cable "Coplanarity - machine con-
troller" from the module "Coplanarity processing unit": see Fig. 12.6.7).
Remove the bottom two connectors on the ICOS (see Fig. 12.6.7 -> 9:, undo 2 screws on each connector)
and carefully pull out the faulty coplanarity processing unit module.
Undo the screws fastening the faulty coplanarity processing unit (2 screws).
Paying attention to the above CAUTION text, plug the new coplanarity processing unit (Item No.: see
Section 12.6.2) into the control unit (2 plug-in slots: see Fig. 12.6.7 -> 3).
Fasten the new module (Item No.: see Section 12.6.2) with the 2 screws.
Re-attach the two connectors to the ICOS and tighten the screws fastening the connectors.
Connect the "sensor cable coplanarity" to the bottom connector of the module "coplanarity processing
unit" (see Fig. 12.6.7 -> 7).
Plug the cable "coplanarity - machine controller" into the top connector of the "coplanarity processing unit"
(see Fig. 12.6.7 -> 8).
Check: The 2nd connector of the cable "coplanarity - machine controller" must be plugged into
COM 1 (V24 interface) of the machine controller (see Fig. 12.6.7 -> 6).
Tighten the screws fastening the two connectors.

In the event of a cable break or faulty cable plug, exchange the cable:
Turn the machine off.
Unplug the 2 connectors of the cable "coplanarity - machine controller" (see Fig. 12.6.7 -> 6, 8).
Plug the new cable "coplanarity - machine controller" (Item No.: see Section 12.6.2) into the top plug of the
"coplanarity processing unit" and into COM 1 (V24 interface) of the machine controller.
Tighten the screws fastening the 2 connectors.

CAUTION O
During disassembly and assembly of the control unit and all work inside the machine base, make certain that
you do not damage the cables or exert any strain on them.
Do not pull an existing cable harnesses and do not move them out of their position.
DANGER OOO
Exchanging the cable "coplanarity - terminal panel" and any other work on its wiring constitutes interven-
tion in the safety circuit of the laser shut-off.
For this reason, the laser shut-off must always be checked explicitly afterwards (see "Checking the Safety
Circuit", Section 12.6.15).
Only
the Siemens service engineer is permitted to perform any work on connector X98 and the cable har-
ness "coplanarity" beyond exchanging the above-mentioned cable (see corresponding text in Fig. 12.6.3).
If necessary, use an insertion aid.
Unplug the connector of the "sensor cable coplanarity" from the module coplanarity processing unit
(see Fig. 12.6.7).
Paying attention to the above NOTE, carefully remove control unit Y0900.
Carefully run the cable ties along the cable harness extending from control unit Y0900 to X211/21 in the
bottom cable duct of the input/output terminal panel Y0904.
Remove the 2-core cable "coplanarity - terminal panel"
(see Fig. 12.6.3).
Route the new 2-core cable "coplanarity - terminal panel" (Item No.: see Section 12.6.2) from control
unit Y0900 -> to the bottom cable duct of I/O terminal panel Y0904 X211/21(see Fig. 12.6.3).
Lay the new cable next to the existing cable harness.
Wire the cable "coplanarity - terminal panel" to the 15-pin, connector X98, on the back of the control
unit and to X211 / 21 on terminal panel Y0904.
