Before using the machine
1. Safety
Please observe all safety rules and precautions to ensure that the machine you have purchased is used in a
safe and correct manner. Also, please bear in mind that not all safety items can be listed in detail, so that an
accurate judgement by the operator is essential in operating these machines safely.

The following are basic safety rules which must be observed:
1. The person operating a machine must have received proper training in operating it in a safe and correct manner.
2. The power supply must be turned OFF whenever the machine is inspected, components are replaced, or repairs or
internal adjustments are made.
3. During operation of the machine, be sure to keep all parts of the body, such as the hands or the head, away from the
machine's moving parts.
4. Be sure the “interlock” safety devices are maintained in an operable condition so that they can be used to stop the
machine at any time.
5. Do not use the machine in an environment where flammable gases are present or where it is extremely dirty.

2. Warranty
The machine you have purchased is warranted against malfunctions as described below.

Warranty Description:
Any genuine component of the machine is warranted against material or manufacturing defects and will be repaired free
of charge. (Hereafter called “warranty repair.”)
n
Warranty Period:
The warranty period ends after 12 months have elapsed from the time of shipment.
n
Items not covered by the warranty: The warranty does not cover any of the following conditions:
1. Damage resulting from deterioration due to age or wear (e.g., normal discoloration of painted or plated surfaces, wear
of expendable parts, etc.)
2. Damage resulting from the user environment (e.g., impurities in the air supply, dust, debris, oil mist, etc., on the
machine.)
n
Warranty repairs do not cover damage caused by the following:
1. Earthquake, typhoon, floods, lightening, accidents or fires and other natural or man-made disasters
2. Modifications or conversions not approved by Yamaha or its distributors
3. Use of non-genuine components, greases and lubricants
4. Lack and errors in proper maintenance and inspection procedures
5. Maintenance handled by anyone other than approved distributors

3. Handling Precautions
To maintain the performance characteristics of the machine you purchased, note the following point when
using the parts feeders.
n
Air-blow positions when exchanging parts (tape reel)
Be sure to blow air to the following positions before exchanging parts.
• Sprocket assembly part (Figure 1 below)
Blow air to the entire part.
• Empty tape feed groove (Figure 2 below)
Blow air in the directions of the arrows.
• Inside top tape box of the top tape winding gear (Figure 3 below)
Blow air in the direction of the arrow.

CAUTION
If a tape-and-reel packing is set with a component still remained in the tape guide assembly, etc., the carrier tape or
the top tape will be caught in the feeder, causing component feeding errors. Take care or pickup error may be caused.
