8. Daily Inspection and Maintenance
Daily inspection and maintenance are necessary in order to use the tape feeder safely for a long period of
time.
8.1 Daily inspection
Check the following before using the tape feeder.

Is the clamping lever tight enough? Refer to “6. Clamping lever assembly of Chapter 2”
Is the tape guide assembly tight enough? Refer to “2. Tape guide assembly of Chapter 2”
Are any of the screws loose? Tighten the screws.
Are any of the components deformed or broken? Repair or replace the part.
Are any of the components missing or lost? Repair or replace the part.

8.3 Cleaning the tape guide assembly
If debris or chip components are jammed in the gap between the tape guide assembly and feeder frame, the
tape guide assembly may rise, causing the pickup position to shift. Follow the instructions below to clean the
tape guide.

Lift the tape guide assembly.
Open the tape guide front lever and lift the tape guide assembly.

Clean.
1. Wipe debris or chip components in the tape guide assembly and on the tape travel surface of the
feeder frame with a cotton swab or the like. Then, clean with an air blow tool.
2. Clean the top tape folding part of the tape guide assembly with a needle or thin wire, etc.
