3.1 Precautions for setting the feeder

CAUTION
· Don’t let the tip of the carrier tape stick out too much. We recommend that the tip of the carrier tape does not stick
out of the feeder end.
· Align the connector portion of the feeder with the No. (setup location) of the cart before installation.

Check that the tape guide assembly is locked when seen from the side (view on arrow A) when the feeder is set
and that the feeder is inserted all the way to the end and the under rail is engaged with the guide securely.

3.1.1 Installing to the mounter or changeable feeder bank

CAUTION
Be sure to set the tape with a set-up station on machine or an Offline setup station before installing the feeder to a
mounter or a changeable feerder bank. It is impossible to set up a tape on the mounter.

Press the emergency stop button.

CAUTION
Installing a feeder unit without stopping the mounter might cause items to be entangled in the machine.

Clean the surface of the feeder plate.
Parts or debris caught in the machine will tilt the feeder, interfering with stable pickup and the feeder
plate or under rail may be damaged.

CAUTION
· Foreign matter (components or debris) around the connector part might enter the connector and cause short-
circuit.
· Take care not to let foreign matter enter the connector portion during cleaning.
