How to use this manual

1. About this manual
This manual is intended for supervisors or managers of the machines and explains the procedures for
adjusting and calibrating the YAMAHA surface mounters using the Full Auto Mount Feedback (FAMF)
program. Make sure you fully understand the machine settings and conditions before beginning
adjustments.

CAUTION
Machine conditions or circumstances during adjustments may adversely affect the machine
accuracy. Do not make adjustments under conditions or in an environment that greatly differs
from the actual production environment. Also be sure to make a data backup prior to adjust-
ments.

WARNING
WHEN ADJUSTING AN ITEM LOCATED WITHIN THE HEAD ASSEMBLY MOVEMENT RANGE,
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE MACHINE IS IN EMERGENCY STOP AND ALSO PLACE A SIGN
INDICATING “ADJUSTMENT IN PROGRESS” TO WARN OTHER WORKERS NOT TO TURN ON
POWER TO THE MACHINE.
FOR INFORMATION ON HOW TO OPERATE THE XG SERIES SURFACE MOUNTERS, PRECAU-
TIONS TO TAKE DURING OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENTS, REFER TO THE SEPARATE XG
SERIES OPERATION MANUAL AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO ENSURE SAFETY.
