Introduction
1. About this manual
This manual is comprised of the following chapters.
Chapter 1 Maintenance
Describes operating conditions and environments necessary to maintain the machine performance, and the importance
of the daily check work and cleaning work. Setups to make before starting maintenance work, consumable parts and
maintenance tools as well as the necessary tools are also described.
Chapter 2 Daily maintenance items
Making checks and cleaning the machine are essential daily maintenance tasks for maintaining equipment performance.
Performing these tasks prevents unforeseen trouble and allows using the machine in an optimum state.
Chapter 3 Periodic maintenance items
Describes maintenance tasks that should be performed periodically to maintain equipment performance. According to
the contents of the maintenance items, recommended maintenance intervals are available, such as "weekly", "monthly",
"3-month", "6-month", and "1-year".
Chapter 4
Maintenance of options
Describes the maintenance work of the Z:LEX main unit options (ionizer, UPS battery, and nozzle station).
For details about options (cATS10, sATS30, sATS30NS, Feeder exchange carriage, Nonstop Feeder exchange system, QFP
recovery conveyor, and Automatic Push-up Pin Exchange System) other than those for the main unit, and UPS, see "Z:LEX
(YSM20R/YSM20WR) Option Manual".
Chapter 5
Lubrication Points
This section provides information regarding the lubrication points, lubrication tools, and the lubrication schedule for the
axes described in "Chapter 3 Periodic maintenance items".
Chapter 6 How to replace consumable parts
Describes how to replace the consumable parts, such as nozzle leaf springs or the replacement parts, such as valves.

Tape cutter maintenance
YAMAHA recommends to inspect a tape cutter (and to lubricate with disassembly if needed) once a year , although this
may vary depending on the machine condition or machine operating environment. YAMAHA also recommends to replace
tape cutter blade once every 3 years. Note that tape cutter inspection, lubrication with disassembly, and replacing tape
cutter blade must be performed by YAMAHA service personnel. Contact YAMAHA sales representatives for more details.
