4. 6-month maintenance
This section describes 6-month maintenance items.
4.1 Cleaning camera lighting unit
The lighting unit may become dirty due to dust and dirt. Periodic cleaning is recommendable.

CAUTION
Do not apply strong force or shock to the camera unit and lighting unit during cleaning. Optical axis adjustment might
become unreliable.

CAUTION
When a trouble related to lighting, etc. occurred, contact YAMAHA sales representatives. The disassembly and
cleaning of the machine made by the customer is beyond the coverage of the warrantee.
4.1.1 Cleaning fiducial camera
The fiducial camera is mounted on the head. The cleaning procedure for the camera's lighting unit is given
below.

Move the head unit.
1. Take off all accessories susceptible to the
magnetic fields, such as a wristwatch
and magnetic ID card.

2. Press the emergency stop button and
then open the machine safety cover.
3. If the machine is carriage type, detach
carriage to easily access to the head unit.
4. Move the head unit to a convenient
position for maintenance work.

Clean the lighting unit.
Use a blower brush to remove the dust from
the lighting unit.

Clean the reflector plate.
Use a cotton swab slightly dampened with
lens cleaner to clean the reflector plate side
as shown in the figure on the right.
TIP
The blower brush and lens cleaner are optional
purchase items.

4.1.2 Cleaning multi-camera
The cleaning procedure for the multi-camera lighting unit is given below.

Detach the protective glass.
1. Press the emergency stop button and
then open the machine safety cover.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the 8
mounting screws and detach the
protective glass.

Wipe the protective glass with a
cloth.
Wipe off the top and bottom surfaces of the
protective glass using lint-free cloth with a
few drops of lens cleaner.

Clean the lighting.
Use a blower brush to remove the dust from
the lighting.

Clean the half-mirror.
Use a cotton swab with a small amount of
lens cleaner to clean the half-mirror.

Reattach the protective glass.
Place the protective glass at its original
position and tighten 8 mounting screws.
Tightening torque: 0.14 N·m

CAUTION
Be careful not to tighten the mounting screw
excessively. If the mounting screw is tightened
continuously with a force exceeding the tightening
torque, the screw hole may be damaged.
TIP
The blower brush and lens cleaner are optional
purchase items.

4.1.3 HM head: Cleaning scan camera
The light diffuser plate and prism for the scan camera are attached to the opening at the left end of the camera.
These diffuser plate and prism may become dirty due to dust and dirt. Periodic cleaning is recommended.

CAUTION
Do not apply strong force to the camera parts during cleaning. Doing so may damage the glass components used in
the camera unit.

Store all nozzles to nozzle station.
1. Open the [Unit] - [Head] screen.
2. Select desired head unit from "Table
Select".
3. Press the [Nozzle Change] button.
4. Select "ALL" for "Head Number" and
select "Store Nozzle" for "Nozzle Type" on
the "Nozzle Change" screen.
5. Press the [OK] button to return all nozzles
to the nozzle station.

NOTE
If the machine is not equipped with a nozzle station,
press the emergency stop button and then remove the
nozzles manually.

Move the head unit.
1. Press the emergency stop button and
then open the machine safety cover.
2. If the machine is carriage type, detach
carriage to easily access to the head unit.
3. Move the head unit to a convenient
position for maintenance work.

Move the scan camera.
1. Check that all heads locate upper ends.
If they locate the position of hitting scan
camera, move all heads (nozzle holder
sections) manually to the upper ends.
2. Move the scan camera to left end (No.
10 head side). At this time, do not apply
any excessive force.

Wipe the diffuser plate and prism.
1. Use a cotton swab to remove dust and
dirt on the upper surface of the main
light diffuser plate and on the prism
surface. Since the prism surface is
narrow, twist the end of the cotton swab
into a pointed tip and use it to wipe the
prism surface lightly.
2. Wipe the side-view light diffuser plate
and prism using a cotton swab. Use a
hand mirror when wiping the prism
surface since it cannot be seen from the
front.

CAUTION
Do not use solvent. Solvent may cause the surface finish
of the prism to peel or flake and the diffuser plate to
discolor.
