9.3.8 Safety Hoods
9.3.8.1 Cleaning the Guideway
DANGER
Do not carry out any cleaning work with alcohol in the presence of naked lights or fire!
DANGER
Switch off the automatic placement systems at the main switch and disconnect from the power supply.
Use a vacuum cleaner nozzle to thoroughly clean the area of the two guideways along the long side of the
machine. Move the safety hood as required.
Clean the guide rails on both long sides of the side panel of the safety hoods with a brush dipped in alco-
hol.
Slide the safety hoods apart until you can see a gap in the guide rail between the safety hoods.
Apply a small quantity of Staburags N12 to this gap and move the safety hoods repeatedly back and forth
to spread the grease evenly.
If necessary, wipe over the safety hoods with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
9.3.8.2 Cleaning the Bar Code Strip
The position of the bar code strips on the machine is shown in Fig. 9.1.1, page 9 - 3.
Clean the bar code strips (used in connection with the supply of components) on the two side covers with
a soft dry cloth.
NOTE
The bar code strips are glued on. Do not use alcohol when cleaning. Otherwise the labels could come off.
