Light emitting side
HEIGHT SENSOR UNIT
The CM88 is equipped with the height sensor unit which complies with Interna-
tional Standard IEC 825-1 (1993) as the class 1 light emitting diode unit and its
safety level is defined as “Lasers which are safe under reasonably foreseeable
conditions of operation.” However, if the LED unit disassembled or modified,
and used for the other purpose, the safety for the human being cannot be guar-
anteed. Therefore, great care must be taken when handling.
(1) Object of using the LED product

To detect the thickness of a chip picked up.

(2) Measuring principle
To detect the nozzle height and the chip thickness by sensing the quantity of the light which comes
through the slit (5 mm × 0.1 mm) in front of the light receiving element.
