6-2. Greasing the X-axis

Operation flow

The procedure for greasing the X-axis consists of the following steps.

6-2-1 Preparation of greasing the X-axis

6-2-2 Cleaning the right-hand X-axis and its periphery

6-2-3 Cleaning the left-hand X-axis and its periphery

6-2-4 Greasing the X-axis

6-2-5 Completion of greasing the X-axis

WARNING

- When you perform the procedure set forth in this section, you have

to place your hands in a drive section. If you perform maintenance

with the power ON, your fingers or hands may be caught or cut off.

Turn OFF the machine or shut off the facility power supply before

starting this procedure.

Also, ensure that no other person touches the machine during

cleaning and greasing.

- Performing maintenance while the machine or floor is wet with

water will cause electric shock hazard which may result in serious

injury or death.

Make sure that there is no water in the water case or bellows

section.

CAUTION

If the axis does not move for a long time after being greased, the

grease will harden. This could adversely affect the precision of the

machine, such as a position error during axis operation.

Do not perform greasing before a long-term operation suspension.

NOTICE

- If the areas to be lubricated are dark due to the environmental

conditions, confirm the nipple locations and cleaning areas with a

flashlight or the like to ensure proper lubrication.

- Neither safety goggles, protective gloves, stepstools, flashlights nor

alcohol, all of which are necessary for maintenance work, are not

supplied with the machine. Use what are furnished in your factory or

what comply with your factory's standards.
