2 Brief Description
With the PCB barcode scanner, the barcode can be scanned (recorded and decoded) on the top
side or bottom side of a PCB.
2.1 Product Description
The PCB barcode readers are fitted into a mounting frame (input conveyor extension) on the inside
of the input conveyor cover panel.

It may be used on a single or dual conveyor.
Depending on your machine, you can configure one to four PCB barcode readers.
Up to two PCB barcode readers can be retrofitted onto single conveyors. One of these can scan
the top and one the bottom of the boards.
Up to four PCB barcode readers can be retrofitted to dual conveyors. One of these can scan the
top and one the bottom of the boards at each conveyor lane.
During assembly, the PCB barcode readers are fitted onto profiled rails, which are then installed
above and below the PCB input conveyor.
Up to two PCB barcode readers can be fixed to a profile rail and can then be aligned on this rail to
read the individual barcode labels.
2.2 Prerequisites
The input conveyor extension is required to install the "PCB barcode scanner" option. Refer to the
appropriate assembly instructions:

2.3 Restrictions
The following applies to all machine types:
●
The machine cannot remain in the line arrangement during installation of the PCB barcode option.
●
1D and 2D scanners cannot be combined in one and the same machine.
The following points apply to SIPLACE X-Series machines:
●
A combination of bulk feeder and PCB barcode is possible.
●
3D coplanarity is not possible on SIPLACE TX machines.
The following points apply to SIPLACE X-Series S machines:
●
A combination of bulk feeder and PCB barcode is possible.
●
A combination of 3D coplanarity and PCB barcode is not possible.
●
A combination of bulk feeder and 3D coplanarity is not possible.
The following points apply to SIPLACE SX1/SX2 V2 machines with serial number
Nxxxx or higher:
●
A combination of bulk feeder and 3D coplanarity is not possible.
●
The combination of bulk feeder and PCB barcode is only possible to a limited extent:

Restriction
If a bulk feeder is already installed, it uses the LAN2 port of the station computer.
► In this case, the network cable of the PCB barcode scanner needs to be connected to
the additional LAN card using a different IP address to enable the configuration via the
station computer.

Depending on the conveyor type and the mounting location of the PCB barcode reader, different
