2.1.3.2 Safety of operators and other persons
SIPLACE Wafer System operators may only carry out work for which they have been ade-
quately trained and with which they are totally familiar.
NEVER open one of the protective covers if you are not totally familiar with the use and func-
tioning of the SIPLACE Wafer System! Do not open the protective covers during operation
unless you are told to do so in this manual or in the software dialog.
The SIPLACE Wafer System may only be operated if it is installed in a SIPLACE CA4 V2 and
is ready for operation.
For your own safety, wear work clothes that conform to the guidelines of the professional as-
sociation or to the regulations of your country, i.e. safety shoes, hair net or no wide sleeves
etc.
Reduce the risks by not wearing scarves, chains or ties at your work post.
People with long hair must wear a protective head covering.

2.1.3.3 Safety of plant and equipment
Never make changes, however minor, unless you are totally aware of the effect they will have
on the overall functioning of the system.
The SIPLACE Wafer System must always be set up, retooled and maintained by appropri-
ately trained personnel.
Do not make modifications to the safety equipment. In particular, NEVER deactivate circuit-
breakers or remove safety devices.
WARNING
Severe injuries and damage to equipment in the case of incorrect usage!
In the event of the SIPLACE Wafer System being incorrectly used, movement of the ax-
es, for example, can lead to severe injuries and considerable damage to equipment.
Safe operation of the SIPLACE Wafer System requires correct usage by qualified staff
with observance of all warnings.
Some work on the SIPLACE Wafer System (e.g. setting up) requires training that goes
beyond the scope of this manual.
WARNING
Dangerous voltage levels!
The SIPLACE Wafer System is electrically operated. Certain parts are still live when the
main power switch is off and the mains plug has been disconnected. Switch off the main
switch, disconnect the mains plug and wait for 5 minutes.
There is a risk of death, severe injury and/or considerable damage to equipment if these
instructions are not followed.
Switch off at the main switch and disconnect the SIPLACE Wafer System from the
power supply before carrying out any work on live components.
Lock the SIPLACE Wafer System as described in section 2.8, page 57.
