You will need the following tools, equipment and consumables for monthly maintenance: 5
– Laboratory gloves
– Lint-free cloths
– Lens cleaning cloth
– Lint-free cottonwool buds
– SIPLACE cleaning tissue
– Ethyl alcohol
– Set of cleaned sleeves
– Set of cleaned and lightly greased valve plungers
– Y-axis cover air filter for
120mm fan, if required
– Switch for head crash guard, if necessary

Replace the sleeves and valve plungers 5
: Use the "Single Functions" menu to return the nozzles of the Collect&Place head to the nozzle
changers.
a Open the protective cover.

Do not hold the sleeves in your bare hands. Wear laboratory gloves when carrying out any main-
tenance work on the sleeve. 5

This will avoid dirtying the glass disk, the friction wheel, and the suction plate unnecessarily, which
could lead to faults (counting errors and overshooting). 5
Do not hold the suction plates to avoid damage. 5
5
s Remove the sleeves from the head.
Pull the sleeves out as shown in the diagram. 5

d Place them in the container provided.
Use the "Single Functions" menu to advance the star.

a Remove the valve plungers.
When you pull out the valve plunger, be careful not to touch the small boards. The valve plungers
are conductive and could cause a short-circuit. 5

s Clean the valve casing using a cottonwool bud moistened with ethyl alcohol.
: Insert the cleaned and very lightly greased valve plungers into the valve casing.
See section ("Maintain the valve plungers").
: Move them back and forward several times.
: If the valve plungers move very easily, replace them with new plungers.
If the valve plungers move too easily, they cannot be guaranteed to work correctly. 5

d Clean the segment using a cottonwool bud moistened with ethyl alcohol.
Never use pipe-cleaners or bottle brushes to clean the segment.
This could tear out the sleeve retaining springs or leave lint or hairs in the segment which, in turn,
could cause faults. 5

: Insert the cleaned sleeves into the segments.
See section ("Maintain
the sleeves").
Use a very gentle pressure to engage the sleeves to avoid damaging the retaining springs. 5

: Use the "Single Functions" menu to pick up the nozzles of the Collect&Place head.
