12.2.2 Configuration of a Subline
A line can consist of one or several sublines. Upon the configuration of the subline it is defined which stations
will be combined to form a given subline. Only the stations of the higher-order overall line can be configured.
On the menu bar on the desktop click on SERVICES --> Line configuration.
The
"Line configuration" selection window opens.
Click on the Subline configuration button.
The FSB containing the "Master data: Anlagen" directory opens.
Select line "xx.ak" in which the subline is to be configured by double-clicking. All sublines contained
in the overall line are now displayed in the FSB.
To change an existing configuration:
Select subline "xx.va" and confirm with OK (or select subline directly by double-clicking).
The "Subline configuration" window opens (see
Fig. 12.2.2).
The names of all stations that were allocated to the line during the configuration are listed in the
view area (see
section 12.2.1.1).
The names of the stations that were already assigned to the subline darken.
Establishing a new configuration:
Enter the name "xx.va" for the new subline and confirm with OK (or RETURN).
The "Subline configuration" window opens (see
Fig. 12.2.2).
The names of all stations that were allocated to the line during the configuration are listed in the
view area (see
section 12.2.1.1).
NOTE
The name of the subline may comprise max.
20 characters, including the suffix ".va". Some characters
must not be used when assigning the name; more details are contained in chapt. 2, section 2.3.

To add a station to the current subline:
Click on the name entry of the desired station.
The selected entry darkens. The station is added to the subline.
Deleting a station from the current subline:
Click on the darkened name entry of the desired station using the right mouse button.
The entry is no longer highlighted in dark. The station is deleted from the subline.
If the highlighted name entry is clicked on with the left mouse button
, all other assigned stations
are removed from the subline as well.
Saving the configuration and integrating the current subline into the overall line:
On the menu bar select the File --> Save function.
The configuration of the subline is saved.
The subline is accepted as part of the overall line.
NOTE
If all stations were removed from a subline already contained in the overall line, such subline no lon-
ger exists in the overall line following the save.
On the menu bar select the File --> Exit function.
The "Subline configuration window closes.
Menu bar

(stations have not been configured in the subline yet).

12.2.3 Cluster Configuration
Stations of the same machine type (e.g. S20 and S23) within a subline may be combined into clusters. These
are defined by cluster limits. A cluster is made up of all stations up to the first cluster limit in a subline or of the
stations between two cluster limits in a subline.
- A cluster may comprise the station types HS50 or 80S15/S20/S23 or 80F/F4/F5 or G2 (adhesive station).
- The configuration and setup of the stations within a cluster must be identical.
- On each station within a cluster, the same component share (placement content) of a given PCB will be
placed.
- The PCBs are assembled by a single station within a cluster. This station is not determined by the line
computer, but by "lift units" located between the stations of a cluster.
- Assembled PCBs are transported to the next cluster by an additional conveyor integrated into the station
concerned.
NOTES
The "Whispering down the Line" feature is not supported within the configured clusters and therefore needs
to be deactivated in the Machine Options Editor (see section 12.1.3).
Moreover, the jobs must always be scheduled by specifying lot type "U" (Infinite) in Job Control (see chapt.
14, section 14.2.3.7.
On the menu bar on the desktop click on SERVICES --> Line configuration.
The
"Line configuration" selection window opens.
Click on the Cluster configuration button.
The FSB containing the "Stammdaten: Anlagen" directory opens.
Select the desired overall line "xx.ak" by double-clicking.
All sublines contained in the overall line are now displayed in the FSB.
