9.3 Functional Sequences
9.3.1 Reference Run
The "reference run" program moves the mechanical part of the machine into a defined initial state after switch-
ing-on or a cold revolver head.
The reference run includes the following functions:
Head Reference Run
The sz axis (lifting axis) and
the dR axis (revolver head axis) are referenced.
The dp1 axis (turning station 1, "Rotate before centering") and
the dp2 axis (turning station 2, "Rotate before pick-up/placement") are referenced.
All segments are turned to the reference angle (90°).
The measured vacuum values are registered and the threshold values calculated.*)
All nozzles are closed.*)
*) after the gantry reference run above the collecting container
Gantry reference run
The x axis(axes) and y axis(axes) are referenced
(with 80 S machines, 2 gantries in each case
with 80 F machines 1 gantry in each case).
Determine the segment-related head height and thus the nozzle offset.
To compensate for the mechanical tolerances the corresponding clearance values between the conveyor
belt and segment are determined for all 12 segments at the revolver head (sz axes zero position).
Determining the vacuum thresholds of all segments
Vacuum value for "nozzle open" in the placement circuit
Vacuum value for "nozzle closed" in the placement circuit
(revolver head station 1 forms part of the placement circuit, see Fig. 9.1.2).
Vacuum value for "nozzle open" in the ejection circuit
Vacuum value for "nozzle closed" in the ejection circuit
(revolver head station 3 forms part of the ejection circuit, see Fig. 9.1.2 on page 9 - 5).
