11. Troubleshooting
Remedy
: Remove any chip component or foreign substance such as debris attached on the
suppressor and completely clean the suppressor.
If the taping component is mounted with any foreign substance attached, the suppresser
might be deformed or a pick-up error occur.
Therefore, clean it.
Cause : Chip component has become attached inside the suppressor and
moves wild.

Remedy
: Clean the vacuum nozzle on the main machine of SIGMA-G4/G5 according to
"Volume 4: Maintenance and Troubleshooting" in the Instruction Manual for
SIGMA-G4/G5 main machine.
If the factory is dusty or if paper taping component is often used, then the vacuum nozzle and vacuum
nozzle lter can easily become dirty.
Keep them clean.

11.2 Tape Feeder not correctly locked
Remedy
: Remove any chip component or foreign substance such as debris attached on the
feeder base and completely clean the feeder base.
If the tape feeder is used while it has not been locked, it might cause damage to the machine or pick-
up error.
Attach the tape feeder securely to the feeder base.
Cause : Chip component or foreign substances including debris have been
attached onto the feeder base.

11.3 Tape Feed not correctly performed
Remedy
: Remove any chip component or foreign substance such as debris attached onto the
suppressor and completely clean the suppressor.
If the taping component is mounted with any foreign substance attached, the suppresser
might be deformed or a pick-up error occur.
Therefore, clean it.
Cause : Chip component or foreign substances including debris have been
attached inside the suppressor and the suppressor does not securely
hold the tape.

: Engage the carrier tape sprocket hole with the sprocket teeth.
Cause : Carrier Tape Sprocket Hole not engaged with the sprocket teeth.
Remedy
: Lock the suppressor with the front hook.
Cause : Front hook has not locked properly and the suppressor does not hold
the tape securely.
