4.2 Operation of Operation Panel
4.2.1 Subject Lane Selection
Press the button to select the lane.
Each pressing of this button moves the dot indication
to the left or right in the
indicator.
4.2.2 Feed Pitch Selection
Procedure
(1) Press the button to select the lane.
(Only for 8 mm width Tape Feeder)
(2) Press the
button for 2 seconds or more to ash the display section.
(When the display section ashes, release your nger from the
button).
(3) Press the
button and keeping this condition, press the button or
button to set the feed pitch.
Note
When the button is pressed, the pitch changes bigger one.
Example :
→ 2 → 4 → 8 → 12 → 16—
When the
button is pressed, the pitch changes smaller one.
Example :
→ 16 → 12 → 8 → 4 → 2—
Reference
Refer to "1.1 Types of Tape Feeders " for the pitch amount.
(4) Change the pitch until the feed pitch to be set is reached, and then, press the
button.
The indication stops ashing and the indicator continuously stays on, when
the pitch is set.

4.2.3 Set Pitch Feeding Operation
Procedure
(1) Press the button to select the lane.
(Only for 8 mm width Tape Feeder)
(2) Press the
button and at the same time, press the button.
(3) Within 2 seconds, release your nger from the
button only and keep
pressing the
button.
(4) Using the ON/OFF operation of the
button, execute the 1 pitch feed
operation.
Repeating the ON/OFF operation of the
button can continue the feed
operation.
(5) Release your nger from the
button to end the operation.
4.2.4 Minimum Pitch Feed Operation
This is used when the tape with a new reel is to be set on the tape feeder and the
chip component center is aligned with the pick-up position.
This feeds the tape xed with a minimum pitch.
Note
(a) According to the set feed pitch, the minimum feed pitch is changed.
•
When the feed pitch is 1 mm : Minimum feed pitch = 1 mm
•
When the feed pitch is 2 mm or more : Minimum feed pitch = 2 mm
(b) In the case of minimum feed pitch, the tape is not fed in the rst start
operation. This is because servo-ON processing is performed for the tape
feed servo-motor to return to the home position from any position.
In this case, repeat the operation within 1 second.
The servo ON condition is continued for 1 second.

(2) Using the ON/OF operation of the
button, execute the minimum feed
pitch.
Repeating the ON/OFF operation of the
button can continue the
minimum feed pitch.

4.2.5 Set Pitch Returning Operation
When returning operation is to be performed, loosen the cover tape tension in
advance.
In the case that the cover tape tension is not loosened, the tension is loosened
automatically when the returning operation is performed. However, when the
returning operation is continued several times repeatedly, the tape might be
damaged. Pay attention to the tape.
Procedure
(1) Press the button to select the lane.
(Only for 8 mm width Tape Feeder)
(2) Press the
button and at the same time, press the button.
(3) Within 2 seconds, release your nger from the
button only and keep
pressing the
button.
(4) Using the ON/OFF operation of the
button, execute the 1 pitch feed
operation.
Repeating the ON/OFF operation of the
button can continue the feed
operation.
Note
When the continuous returning operation is to be performed, make sure
that the cover tape tension has been loosened.
(5) Release your nger from the button.
(6) Press the
button to take up the cover tape and set it to the specied
tension before ending the operation.
