2.7.2 How to attach the Magnetic Plate for 8 mm Width Tape
Procedure
(1) Loosen the set screw (round head screw) to remove the magnetic plate, and
attach the magnetic plate onto the chute section.
Notice
(a) Conrm that there is no alien substance in the chute groove.
(b) Insert the plate with the thickness of 0.1 to 0.5 mm (thickness
gauge or paper) between the chute wall and magnetic plate.
Then, tighten the set screw.

Notice
(a) If the Magnetic Plate is not moved up and down smoothly, the
component condition stabilization effect would be degraded.
When the magnetic plate is not moved up and down smoothly,
remove and re-install the magnetic plate.
(b) If the Magnetic Plate is deformed, the component condition
stabilization effect would be degraded.
Take greatest care not to deform the Magnetic Plate.

2.8 Handling of GT-12162 Magnetic Plate
In the 12 mm or 16 mm width tape feeder, the magnetic plate is attached to
stabilize the component pick-up condition.
The effect of the magnetism varies, depending on the component type, size, and
material.
Because in the magnetic plate the magnetic force is used to draw the component,
it is not available for any component made of non-magnetic material.
Also, for some components, the magnetism might have harmful effects on the
component characteristics or pick-up conditions.
Conrm the effect. If any adverse effect is found, remove the magnetic plate from
the chute section and remove it to the magnetic plate housing section. Then, use
the system.
Normally, the magnetic plate is housed in the magnetic plate housing section
and only in the case that the component can not be picked up easily, attach the
magnetic plate onto the chute section.
Note
For thin components, in most cases, the component pick-up rate is lowered. In
such case, use the magnetic plate.
