3. Tape Feeder Attachment and Detachment Procedures
Note
(a) The partition panel pitch (bay) should be 21 mm in the reel holding section
and the thickness of the partition panel should be 0.8 mm.
(b) When 2 pitches or more are used, remove the partition panel.
Notice
When removing or setting the partition panel, take care not
to hurt your ngers.
(c) Two pitches are required if the reel is set when using a 16 mm width tape,
because the max. reel width exceeds the feeder pitch (21 mm).
(d) When the dual tape feeder with 8 mm width is used, lower the reel
receiving bay lever and set two reels above and under the reel receiving bay
lever.
The combination of two large reels is not available.
Also, when a large reel is to be set, return the lever to the original position
and set it.

•
If the hook section at the end of the tape feeder is bumped, it
will be deformed, and so cause a pick-up error.
Take care not to bump the hook section.

Set the tape feeder onto the slot with the correct Fdr. No..
If it is not set correctly, the component might enter the head
section.
(4) Hold the grip and insert the tape feeder end so that it is aligned with the
feeder base rail.
Then push the rear of the grip forward and make sure that the tape feeder has
been securely set.

(5) Hold the grip, and insert it forward carefully until a click sound is heard.
At the same time, make sure that the tape feeder connector has been securely
connected.

•
If the machine is used with the tape feeder lifted, it might cause
machine (SIGMA-G4/G5) breakdown or pick-up error.
Mount the tape feeder securely on the feeder base.
•
Remove the unused tape feeders from the bank feeder change
cart.
Also, if the machine has been operated for a long time with
such unused tape feeders attached, then the tape will have
been slackened, which might cause a pick-up error.
