CAUTION O
Do not exert strain on the wiring.
● Using cable clips, fasten the new cable to the existing cable harness.
● Make certain that the main cable harness is correctly attached inside the machine base and that the cables
are not pinched later when the control unit is installed.
● Re-install control unit Y0900.
● For the time being, do not plug the connector of the "sensor cable coplanarity" into the coplanarity pro-
cessing unit (see Fig. 12.6.7).
DANGER OOO
Pay attention to the above DANGER note.
● The next step is to check the laser shut-off unit (see Section 12.6.15)!

DANGER O O O
A 2nd strong person must always be available for the installation of the component table and the cutter.
There is a risk of being crushed or cut (see DANGER text in Section 12.6.1).
The re-installed component table or component changeover table must always be completely equipped with
feeder modules or dummy modules (see safety instructions in the User Manual).
● Hook the empty-tape slide back in place.
● Install the old cutter or the "pneumatic cutter" and the empty-tape duct:
Proceed exactly as described in the appropriate SIPLACE Service Manual under "Cutter....(see also
Section 12.6.2, under "Documentation").
● Make certain that the warning signs shown in Section 12.6.1 are on the coplanarity sensor.
For this laser class, no warning signs are required on the machine itself or on the safety hoods: see Sec-
tion 12.6.1.
● Place the metal dust cover into the conveyor trench in such a manner that it is lying on the contact sur-
faces of the sensor bracket (see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 12).
● Tighten the screws fastening the dust cover to the machine base (three or four washers and M4 socket-
hex cap screws: see Fig. 12.6.8 -> 15).

● Move the component changeover table into the machine or install the right-hand component table with the
assistance of a 2nd strong person.
● Set up the reassembled component table properly in accordance with the "set-up".
The component table must always be completely equipped (see above DANGER note).
● If applicable, move the wafflepack changer back into the machine.
● Remove all of the components and tools lying in the machine.
● Plug in the connectors of the WPC or the component changeover table in the correct sequence -> First
the interface cable, then the power cable.

After exchanging the cable "coplanarity terminal panel" and after every other step involving its wiring, the
laser shut-off unit must be checked explicitly, as described here.
DANGER O O O
As with all the retrofitting, the following jobs are to be performed only by the Siemens service engineer or
by a Siemens-trained service engineer of the customer.
Before doing this work the service engineer in question must receive instruction from a laser protec-
tion officer.
The laser shutoff is only to be checked indirectly , i.e., with the help of the test connector.
To check the sensor cable it is to disconnected directly at the coplanarity option processing unit and the test
connector is to plug in on in the processing unit on the where the sensor cable is removed from. The laser its-
elf (coplanarity sensor) is therefore not running during this check.
The laser shut-off must be checked during all subsequently named interruptions in protection, once with the
key-operated switch locked ("0") and once with the key-operated switch in the service position ("I").
12.6.15.1Interruptions in Protection which must be Checked
Perform the following checks as described in detail below under “Steps in the Check” Section 12.6.15.2 bes-
chrieben:
- Open and close each of the 4 protective covers/hoods:
Input, output, protectve hoods (left and right).
- Actuate and release each of the 3 EMERGENCY OFF buttons: input, output and WPC
- Electrically isolate and connect the 2 component tables from/to the machine.
Sequence while pulling the plug-in connectors -> see WARNING below.

12.6.15.2Steps in the Check
The following steps are identical with V 403.04 and V404.01:
● Before you turn the machine on: Remove all loose parts and tools from the machine.
● The machine must be turned off.
● Make certain that the key-operated switch is locked (position "0").
● Unplug the
FRSODQDULW\VHQVRUFDEOH
from the assembly (see Fig. 12.6.7).
● Plug the coplanarity test connector
WRWKH
coplanarity option processing unit onto the connector previ-
ously removed (test connector configuration and LED allocation: see Fig. 12.6.6).
● Close all of protective devices.
● Turn the machine ON. The control remains “OFF”:
- None of the 4 LEDs on the connected test connector is to light up.
NOTE
The LEDs on the coplanarity processing unit (in the control unit) are not activated in the identical manner as
the LEDs on the test connector. Therefore the activation and deactivation of LEDs must always be con-
firmed at the test connector. The coplanarity sensor is turned back off 20 minutes after the last activation.
Therefore the checks must be performed within this period of time.
CAUTION O
In this case, the calibration procedure subsequently started via SITEST is merely used to turn on the sensor,
i.e., it is NOT to be STORED.
● Load the SITEST program and select:
"Calibrate" -> "Coplanarity" menu -> "Calibrate module" menu.
● Turn the control “ON” (“Start” button).
● The machine will perform a reference run.
● All 4 LEDs on the test connector must light up.
● Now open and close all 4 protective covers one after the other, checking whether the LEDs on the test
connector are activated:
● After one protective cover is opened -> None of the 4 LEDs is to light up.
● After the individual protective cover or all protective covers is/are closed and the “ON” button is acti-
vated -> all 4 LEDs must light up.
● Press and release all 3 “EMERGENCY OFF” buttons one after the other, checking whether the LEDs on
the test connector are activated:
● After one “EMERGENCY OFF” button is activated -> None of the 4 LEDs is to light up.
● After the “EMERGENCY OFF” button is released and control “ON” is activated -> all 4 LEDs must
light up.
