Introduction
1. About this manual
Descriptions in this manual stress important maintenance items that are essential for maintaining equipment
performance. Information given here mainly describes making inspections, cleaning and greasing as well as
procedures for replacing consumable parts in each location given in a step-by-step format. This manual is
comprised of the following chapters.
Chapter 1 Maintenance
Describes operating conditions and environments necessary to maintain the machine performance, and the importance
of the daily check work and cleaning work. Setups to make before starting maintenance work, consumable parts and
maintenance tools as well as the necessary tools are also described
Chapter 2 Daily maintenance items
Making checks and cleaning the machine are essential daily maintenance tasks for maintaining equipment performance.
Performing these tasks prevents unforeseen trouble and allows using the machine in an optimum state.
Chapter 3 Periodic maintenance items
Describes maintenance tasks that should be performed periodically to maintain equipment performance. Includes
periodic maintenance intervals such as for "weekly", "monthly", "3-month", "6-month" and "1-year" maintenance tasks.
Chapter 4
Maintenance of options
Describes the maintenance of options (ionizer, UPS battery, cATS, and nozzle station) for this machine.
Chapter 5
Lubricating points
This chapter provides information regarding the lubrication points, tools, and schedule for the axes described in Chapter
3 "Periodic maintenance items" and Chapter 4 “Maintenance of options”.
Chapter 6 How to replace consumable parts
Describes how to replace parts subject to wear, such as nozzle leaf springs and conveyor belts.

NOTE
Example) "C(E)" is indicated in the "3 Mon." field of [MU head] - [Switching Valve] - [Filter] in the list shown below. This
means that the filter needs to be cleaned at intervals of 3 months. If contaminants cannot be removed, replace the
filter with a new one.

*1 Light adjustment of RS head side-view camera
The lighting illuminance of RS head side-view camera gradually decreases by long-term use. YAMAHA recommends to
adjust the light illuminance once every 2 years. The adjustment must be performed by YAMAHA service personnel.
Contact YAMAHA sales representatives for details.
*2
Maintaining tape cutter
YAMAHA recommends to inspect a tape cutter (and to lubricate with disassembly if needed) once a year, although this
may vary depending on the machine condition or machine operating environment. YAMAHA also recommends to replace
tape cutter blade once every 3 years. Tape cutter inspection, lubrication with disassembly, and replacing tape cutter
blade must be performed by YAMAHA service personnel as failure in these tasks cause serious injury. Contact YAMAHA
sales representatives for details.
