4.2 Function of Man-Machine CPU
The following explains function of the man-machine CPU.
(1) Operating function for the operator to create and edit programs (keyboard
and FDD)
NOTE: The START/STOP/ONLINE/CYCLE/SERVO FREE/ORIGIN keys
and the HOD are controlled at the machine control section.
(2) Display function for production status and for teaching (LCD)
(3) Data storage function for production programs and MS parameters (HDD)
(4) Communication function with the machine control section (Arcnet board)
(5) Communication function with the HLC (An Arcnet board is to be additionally
installed.)
The functions of items (1) to (3) are almost the same as those of a personal
computer.
For the communication functions of items (4) and (5), the functions for both the
man-machine section and the machine control section are described.
Example of communication function of Arcnet:
A serial communication is used for the communication system of Arcnet, and its
bit rate is 2.5 Mbps.
Display data
Key input data
Machine control section
(MC)
SUB CPU1 board of the control
unit
Man-machine section
(MM)
Arcnet board of the panel
type computer
Arcnet (Serial communication)
Production data
Production data
Mount data and pick data which are required for production to be run.
Display data
Display data to be transferred to display mount positions, etc. during
production, XY coordinate, etc. during teaching operation, check (cancel)
data, and errors.

Key input data
Key input data in manual mode, and that for checking and cancelling key
input.
The above data is stored in the memories of the man-machine CPU and the
SUB CPU1. For the HLC, a personal computer is substituted to the
machine control section shown above. An Arcnet board is installed in the
HLC, too.

5. DESCRIPTION OF BOARDS
The motor of each axis, and the solenoid valve and the sensor of each unit are
controlled from the boards installed in the machine control part (called MC).
Any units other than the control unit (head unit, carrier unit, base unit, feeder
unit, and operation unit) have the I/O boards for interface. These boards
receive the command (serial data) from the control unit to turn the motor, to
drive the solenoid, or to notify the sensor status to the control unit.
For the servo motors of XY axes and of Z/θ axes, the control unit sends the
pulse command to the servo driver of the xy axes, and the analog command to
the servo driver of the Z/θ axes to control the positioning.
Image processing using two offset correction cameras (OCC) installed in the
head unit and using the cameras of VCS, BGA, and CSP units of KE-760 is also
performed with the control unit.
Moreover, in the control unit, these control boards are installed when options
(verification , L. L. L) are installed.
The SUB, the CPU1 board, and the man-machine CPU (panel computer)
installed in the control unit is connected via Arcnet communications.
About the communication method, refer to Chapter 4. "Man-machine".
