Preface
Thank you very much for purchasing the calibration jig for electrically driven tape feeders
(hereinafter referred to as “tape feeder”) dedicated to SM series chip mounters
manufactured by Hanwha Techwin Co., Ltd. The calibration jig is a device used to
calibrate SME tape feeders.
Since this device has a section driven by a motor and gear, as well as a power supply
module to which power is supplied, improper operation may result in user injury.
Here, users include all personnel performing operation and maintenance.
Before using
w Before using a calibration jig with an SME tape feeder, please carefully read this
manual and understand its contents well. After reading this manual, keep it nearby so
that it can be referred to when necessary.
w If a user who has not received training on an SME tape feeder calibration jig operates
this device, it may not operate properly and may cause injury.
w For safe operation and maintenance of this device, it is important that operators must
be aware of those parts that may cause safety problems.
w Please do not attempt to modify the device without prior written permission from
Hanwha Techwin Co., Ltd., or try to repair it in a manner not stated in this manual.
w Regarding training related to the operation of this device, please contact our
designated C/S company (STS) and local agent.

This manual uses safety symbols to indicate those items to be observed in order to ensure
user safety and to prevent property damage.
w Cautions to be exercised for the safety are described as follows in this manual.
Danger
Indicates an imminent hazardous situation which, if remarks
following this symbol are not observed, will result in death or
serious injury. Therefore, instructions must be followed
without fail.

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if remarks
following this symbol are not observed, will result in death or
serious injury. Therefore, instructions must be followed
without fail.
Caution
If remarks following this symbol are not observed, damage
to the machine, embedded program, data, etc., may occur,
or accidents involving personal injury may occur. Therefore,
instructions must be followed without fail.
w Common items to be observed when using a calibration jig are classified as follows:
Warning
Only our CS engineer or a person who has received
professional training must repair a calibration jig.
Do not manipulate a calibration jig with wet hands or hands
stained with foreign materials.
Caution
Perform periodical maintenance of calibration jigs.
When calibrating a tape feeder on a calibration jig, exercise
care not to drop the calibration jig or to have it collide with
the tape feeder, causing damage to the calibration jig.

Safety Precaution
When an abnormal or emergency situation occurs while using the calibration jig, it is
possible to turn off the power supplied to the calibration jig by turning off the power
switch of the calibration jig.
