1.4 Maintenance Method
(2) When the [Start Linear Scale Cleaning] button is pressed in the
"Linear Scale Clean" tab sheet, the following sheet appears.

(3) Press the [Move Fdr Axis to F1 Origin] button or the [Move Fdr Axis
to F2 Origin] button. Press the [ON] button (entitled "MOVE"). In
two seconds, press the [ENABLE] button on the operation panel.
The feeder carriage moves toward the specified origin.
(4) Press the [EMERGENCY STOP] switch and open the feeder car-
riage cover.
(5) Clean the linear scale with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol (abso-
lute ethanol).
Never use any organic compounds other than alcohol.
(6) Close all feeder carriage covers.
(7) Turn the [EMERGENCY STOP] switch clockwise to cancel the emer-
gency stop condition.
(8) Press the [RETURN] button in the "EMERGENCY STOP" window.

(10) Press the [ALL] button entitled "ZERO". In two seconds, press the
[ENABLE] button on the operation panel. All devices are zeroed.
(11) Press the [F1] and [F2] buttons (entitled "FEEDER READY").
(12) Clean the linear scales on the opposite side in the same way.

1.4 Maintenance Method
Cleaning of Linear Scale Encoder Heads
(1) Be sure to turn off the power breaker before cleaning work.
(2) Fold the head cleaning paper as follows.

(3) Wet both surfaces of Sides A and B (head cleaning paper) ad-
equately with alcohol (absolute ethanol).
(4) Insert the head cleaning paper into the clearance beside the en-
coder head such that Side B (engaged between the upper and lower
claws of the scale holder) faces the encoder side.
