1.4.12 Replacement of Oil Filter
The oil filter must be replaced after initial 500 hours and every 12,000
hours for subsequent use.
• Required Items
Tools : Monkey Wrench, Hex-Head Wrenches (M14 and M10),
Stepladder
Material: Oil Filter (Type: LND-04), Oil (SYNTHESO HT220 Approx.
14 liters), Seal Tape
Others : Plastic Bag, Rag, Gummed Cloth Tape, Rubber Gloves,
Waste Oil Container
• Replacement Procedure
(1) Detach the upper cover of the machine and open the front door.
(2) Detach the fan in front of the oil filter.

(3) Enclose the oil filter area with a plastic bag to prevent oil spills and
fasten the bag with a gummed cloth tape.
Keep the front part of the plastic bag open.

(4) Loosen the nut located under the oil filter with a wrench.
Pull it out by turning by hand and keep the filter cover pushed up until
the nut gets loose enough.
Note that oil will come out from the upper area of the cover
unless the cover is kept pushed.
Oil will also flow out from the lower area when the nut comes
off. Get a rag ready for use during the work.
(5) Pull out the filter cover downward.

When you pull out the filter cover, note that a packing might be
attached to the cover edge.
(6) Turn the nut fastening the oil filter until it comes off and pull out the oil
filter downward.

Note that the washer on the lower area of the oil filter must be
reused. Be sure not to lose it.

(7) Keep the oil filter disassembled for a while until oil comes out enough.

(8) Insert a new oil filter, attach the washer, and tighten the nut to fasten
the filter firmly.

(9) Attach the filter cover and tighten the nut.
(a) Insert the filter from the top so that the packing can stay
straight along the cover edge. After that, attach the cover.
(b) Be sure not to deform the packing.
Tightening the nut excessively will cause the packing to
deform.
(10) Attach the fan firmly.
(11) Supply oil to the new oil filter.
Refer to "1.4.13 Lubrication of Rotary Turret" for how to supply
oil to the oil filter.
