Fig. 6.15 - 2 Gripper unit for Smart Pin Support
The gripper unit is fitted to the gantry. This gripper unit picks the support pins up from the pre-
scribed magazine and positions them on the lifting table. The positions of the support pins in the
machine can be defined for each board side, in the SIPLACE Pro Board Editor.
There are two different magazines available for automatic changeover of max. 10 support pins in
the various machine configurations. These magazines are fixed to a magazine holder and are fit-
ted to the component trolley COT insert.

6.16 Vacuum pump
6.16.1 Safety instructions for vacuum pumps

6.16.2 Description
Each Collect&Place head has its own vacuum generator, which supplies the holding and place-
ment circuit with the required vacuum. The vacuum generator for the placement heads functions
according to the Venturi principle. When operated together with a vacuum pump, the SpeedStar
(C&P20) can reduce the compressed air consumption considerably. The running costs will fall ac-
cording to the energy costs incurred.

6.17 Long board option (LBO)
The "Long board" option allows you to place boards which exceed the specified board length. The
maximum length is 610 mm.
