To evaluate group defects as single defects, set parameter 25 P_PPM with the
value 3.
4.3.3 Connecting the VPC Server
The data directory of the VPC Server has to be mapped from the repair station
under S:
4.3.4 Transmitting the VPC files
After a repair is finished, the repair station updates the VPC file corresponding
to the processed RES file. The unprocessed files are opened and updated in
the VPC\INPUT directory and saved in the VPC\OUTPUT directory". Then the
unprocessed files in the VPC\IMPUT directory are deleted. Finally, the
processed files are relocated to the target directory. Default: S:\work.
Both the INPUT and the target directory for the VPC statistics can be modified
as needed with the following keywords in rep.conf:
DIR_VPC_INPUT Defines the directory in which the unprocessed VPC
files are searched for. Default: VPC\INPUT.
DIR_VPC_DEST Defines the target directory for the updated VPC files.
Default: S:\WORK
4.4 Configuration of the VPC Server
Because the VPC server must be available around the clock so data transfer is
available, the data can be accumulated on a server after or even before repair;
the repair station itself can be used as data server because it is always running.
When this is done, several VPC evaluation sites can access the data. To make
this possible, the data path must be defined on each VPC. If a different data
source then the standard Work directory is used, the path can be entered
through the VPC.ini file in the VPC\data directory under the entry Directories.

4.5 Manual Observation of the VPC Files
The utility VpcExplorer allows the observation of VPC and VPM files. A detailed
description of the utility can be found in the appendix.
4.6 Checklist for Correct Data Flow
4.6.1 AOI:
VIS_NAME defined
File si.par configured (P_VPC_DEST (354),·P_REP_GOOD (56))
The "Outgoing" directories should exist on the AOI (only necessary when
using Rep_server/Rep_client)
SI_sj.cnt configured or define #CLE_PINS
Connecting the repair station as R:\
Connecting the VPC Server as S:\
4.6.2 Repair station:
Repair station name defined
Configure rep.par (P_VPC_USE (258),·P_PPM (25))
Connecting the VPC Server as S:\
4.6.3 VPC Server:
Determining the data evaluation
- on data server or
- on local VPC computer
Clear default definition:
Suggestion: VPC data server installed on repair station
