– 3x8mm SL tape feeder module
SL means shutterless, that is without a component cover. Dispensing with unnecessary me-
chanical parts reduces the acquisition costs and maintenance costs for this feeder module.1
– Splice detection for S tape feeder modules
Splice detection for S tape feeder modules can be retrofitted on the machines.
– Waffle-pack changer
The waffle-pack changer allows the following locations to dock in at X2 and X3 placement
machines:
SIPLACE X2: feeder locations 2 and 4
SIPLACE X3: location 2
– LDU-X
The X linear dipping unit is used to wet flip-chip and CSP components with flux .

1.1.6 Serial number of the placement machine
The serial number of the placement machine can be found in two different places.
– The serial number, without leading zeroes, e.g. B-1, is struck on the left-hand side of the ma-
chine frame, on the same side as the pneumatic unit (see item 1 in Fig. 1.1 - 2
).
– With leading zeros, e.g. B-001, the serial number is punched in the rating plate (see item 2 in
Fig. 1.1 - 2
).

1.1.8 Use as prescribed
The product must only be used for its intended purposes as described in the catalogs and techni-
cal descriptions, namely the placement of SMD components, and only with the third-party equip-
ment and components recommended or permitted by SIPLACE. Use for a different or
extended purpose is not prescribed.
If the product is not used as prescribed, SIPLACE accepts no liability for any damage that may
occur and does not guarantee that the components will work properly and without problems.
Use as prescribed also includes compliance with all the instructions in the user manual.
For the product to operate correctly and reliably, it must have been transported, stored, erected
and assembled correctly and must be operated and maintained with care.
1.1.9 Use other than as prescribed
Failure to use the product as prescribed can result in both danger to life and limb and material
damage. For this reason, used other than as prescribed is expressly prohibited. If the product is
not used as prescribed, SIPLACE Company accepts no liability for any damage that may occur
and does not guarantee that the components will work properly and without problems.
Use of the machine other than as prescribed includes, for example
– operation of the placement machine with safety equipment deactivated or removed.
– placement of components that do not meet the permitted specification.
– use of component feeder modules that have not been approved.
– use of unauthorized accessories and additional modules.
– use of the placement machine by unqualified personnel.
