1 Introduction
This guide describes the installation of the "Reconfiguration Kit Twin VHF with Gantry" for 40 mm
components on SIPLACE® SX1/SX2 V3 machines.
1.1 Safety instructions
DANGER
Nonobservance of these safety instructions may cause injury to personnel and dam-
age to the machine!
► Please observe the safety instructions in the user manual of the relevant machine
for all work!
1.1.1 Conventions for the use of safety instructions and symbols
Safety instructions
This manual contains notes that must be observed to guarantee your personal safety and to avoid
damage to equipment. These notes are highlighted by warning triangles and are indicated as fol-
lows according to the level of risk:
DANGER
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that fatal or severe injuries or considerable
damage to property will occur if this hazard warning is not observed.
WARNING
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that fatal or severe injuries or considerable
damage to equipment may occur if these warning instructions are not followed.

1.1.2 Safety instructions for working with strong magnetic fields
DANGER
Strong permanent magnetic fields
Fatal hazard: persons with active implants (e.g. pacemakers, defibrillators, insulin pumps,
etc.) are at risk from strong permanent magnetic fields inside the machine.
Persons at risk should avoid the immediate vicinity of the machine.
CAUTION
Danger of crushing
Danger of crushing for persons with passive metal implants (e.g. plates, screws).
► Do not reach or lean over into the machine when the covers are open.
► Do not bring any metal objects into the danger area.
CAUTION
Strong permanent magnetic fields
There is a risk that the strong magnetic fields could corrupt data on data media or check
cards.
► Keep sensitive data media away from the permanent magnets.
1.1.3 Safety instructions for the power supply
NOTICE
Validity
This section applies to the following machine types with SMPS (Switched Mode Power
Supply):
► SIPLACE SX1/SX2 V3 from serial no. Rxxxx
Residual voltages and discharge times in the machine
If the emergency stop button is pressed or the machine is switched off, the 300V~ link voltage for
the gantry axes and the 160V~ link voltage for the star axes are reduced to harmless residual
voltages in a very short time.
DANGER
Dangerous voltages!
The machine is supplied with 3 x 380 V~ to 3 x 415 V ± 10 %, 50/60 Hz or optional with 3 x
200 V~ to 3 x 220 V~ ± 10 %; 50/60 Hz mains voltage. This means that some parts of the
system carry potentially lethal voltages - even when it is switched off at the main power
switch and the power plug is unplugged.
Death, serious injury or considerable damage may result if these machines are handled
incorrectly.
► Always follow the applicable accident prevention and DIN regulations (particularly EN
60204, part 1 or IEC 60204, part 1) and the applicable regulations in your own coun-
try.
► The covers of the power supply unit must ONLY be opened by appropriately qualified
and trained personnel.
► Please observe the safety instructions in the user manual for all work!
► Before you start working on the power supply, check it for absence of voltage and
observe the waiting times!
