Time needed
Schedule around 15 minutes for this task.
3.1.3 Prerequisites
For a safe and efficient maintenance, the following prerequisites have to be fulfilled:
Personnel:
• Any work with or at the equipment must be carried out by skilled and
trained personnel in accordance with the locally applicable
regulations.
• Inform all involved persons regarding the currently running
maintenance works.
Machine loading:
• Stored items do not have to be unloaded.
• If shelves are positioned directly above the portal, it can be necessary
to unload their stored items and to remove them for better access to
the GUIK electronics.
Machine operating
condition:
• Shut down
Main electrical
power:
• Equipment disconnected from power supply system. The Main Switch
(switched off) locked by means of a padlock to secure the main switch
against unintentional switching on.
Compressed air /
Nitrogen (if used):
• Equipment disconnected from compressed air or nitrogen supply.
Access:
•
Open both doors of the machine.
3.1.4 Exchange steps
Check working space
Have a short look on the exchange procedure
below and check if there is enough space
around the portal to do the work (above or
below, depending on the exch
ange procedure).
If there is not enough space, unload the
obstructive items and remove their shelves.
Make a note of the exact position of shelves and
items for an exact refit after the exchange
procedure.

If the refit of shelves and items does not meet the original positions, the machine crashes
and can be damaged.
Unplug ribbon cables
Unplug both ribbon cables (see picture).
Loosen and remove fixing screws
Loosen and remove the four fixing screws.

Unplug RS 232 and power cables
Loosen the two screws of the RS232 Plug (1).
Unplug the RS232 (1) and the power (2) cables.
Remove the whole module.
Remove humidity sensor (if present)
Pull the sensor out of the socket very carefully
and remember the orientation.
Take the new exchange module
and put the
sensor into the socket the same way as it was
assembled before.
Plug in RS 232 and power cables
Plug in the RS232 (1) and the powe
r (2) cables.
Tighten the two screws of the RS232 Plug (1).
