Step 6

Remove all tools and close the doors of the machine.

Plug in the power connector and switch on the machine.

Initialize the machine by means of the software.

6.2 Z Belt

6.2.1 Introduction

This modification instruction describes how to change the belt of the Z axis on SIPLACE Material

Tower.

Spare part number: 03126676-01

Before starting the maintenance, read the Safety instructions carefully.

After this modification all stacks must be recalibrated. Therefore,

SIPLACE Material Tower

must be emptied in advance by means of the software.

6.2.2 Tools, Material and Scheduling

For an effective and efficient maintenance, the following resources have to be provided:

Tools: Allen key nr. 2, 3, 4 and 5

Torque key nr. 5 (torque range min-max: 1 N - 10 N)

Belt tension meter (frequency range min-max: 20 Hz - 450 Hz), e.g. Sonic Tension

Meter / Gates Corporation Denver, Colorado

Measuring tape 5m

Random tool used as spacer (wood or metal)

Persons: Assisting person required for step 6

Auxiliary

Material:

Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242

Spare parts:

-01, tooth belt 25 ATL5

Length: 4453 mm ± 2 mm

Time needed

Schedule around 40 to 60 minutes for this task.

6.2.3 Prerequisites

For a safe and efficient maintenance, the following prerequisites have to be fulfilled:

Personnel:

• Any work with or at the equipment must be carried out by skilled and

trained personnel in accordance with the locally applicable

regulations.

• Inform all involved persons regarding the currently running

maintenance works.

Machine loading:

• All stored items must be unloaded in advance.

Machine operating

condition:

• Shut down

Main electrical

power:

• Equipment disconnected from power supply system. The Main Switch

(switched off) locked by means of a padlock to secure the main switch

against unintentional switching on.

Compressed air /

Nitrogen (if used):

• Equipment disconnected from compressed air or nitrogen supply.

Access:

• Open both doors of the machine.

• Pull the Z axis towards you.

• Pull the gripper up (is a bit hard because the Z motor has a break) so

you have better access.

6.2.4 Exchange steps

Step 1

Note:

To prevent the Y axis from falling down,

securely hold it during removal of the

screws. It is recommended to move the Y

axis completely to the bottom before

loosening and removing the screws to

prevent it from falling down.

Remove the 8 screws that connect the whole Y

axis to the Z belt.

Lay the whole Y axis carefully down (if not

already done).

Step 2

Pull the

Z belt until the screw of the coupling is

visible.

Loosen the screw of the coupling. Now, the Z

belt should be easily movable by hand and the

coupling should not turn with this movement.
