6.1 Z Motor
6.1.1 Introduction
This modification instruction describes how to change the motor of the Z axis on SIPLACE Material
Tower.
Spare part number: 03124546-01
Before starting the maintenance, read the Safety instructions carefully.
After this modification all stacks must be recalibrated. Therefore, SIPLACE Material Tower
must be emptied
in advance by means of the software.
6.1.2 Tools, Material and Scheduling
For an effective and efficient maintenance, the following resources have to be provided:
Required Tools / Auxiliary Material / Spare parts
Tools: Allen key nr. 4 and 5
Torque key nr. 5 (torque range min-max: 1 N - 10 N)
Side cutter
Auxiliary Material: Cable ties
Spare parts:

6.1.3 Prerequisites
For a safe and efficient maintenance, the following prerequisites have to be fulfilled:
Personnel:
• Any work with or at the equipment must be carried out by skilled and
trained personnel in accordance with the locally applicable
regulations.
• Inform all involved persons regarding the currently running
maintenance works.
Machine loading:
• All stored items must be unloaded in advance.
Machine operating
condition:
• Shut down
Main electrical
power:
• Equipment disconnected from power supply system. The Main Switch
(switched off) locked by means of a padlock to secure the main switch
against unintentional switching on.
Compressed air /
Nitrogen (if used):
• Equipment disconnected from compressed air or nitrogen supply.
Access:
• Open both doors of the machine.
• Pull the Z axis towards you.
• Push the gripper down as far as possible (is a bit hard because the Z
motor has a break).

6.1.4 Exchange steps
Step 1
Note:
To prevent the Y axis from falling down,
pull it down to the bottom.
Loosen the screw of the coupling on the motor
side.
Step 2
Cut all cable ties and disconnect all cables.
