Preface
We are grateful to you for buying the Component Placer (hereinafter referred to as the
"machine") manufactured by Samsung Techwin Co, Ltd.
A Component Placer is a machine that picks a component from a component supply
device such as feeders and places the component on the supplied PCB.
This machine has high speed driving area, vacuum pressure operated device, and high
voltage power area. If the machine is not properly operated, safety hazards may serious
injury or death.
The user here includes personnel involved in software programming, installation,
maintenance, and repair of standard system hardware and supply devices such as feeders.
Before operating this machine
Before operating this machine, please read this manual and understand its contents.
Please keep this manual near the machine at all times so that it can be referred to as
necessary.
People who have not received training on this machine should not handle it.
Samsung also provides a training program for operating this machine. For details,
please contact the C/S Company (STS) designated by Samsung Techwin Co., Ltd..
To assure safety in the operation and maintenance of the machine, it is very important
for the user to know the location of potential safety hazard. Please refer to “Safety
Precaution (page v)” for more information.
If the user modifies the machine without prior consent of Samsung Techwin Ltd. or
repairs it in a manner not stated in this manual, the safety assurance features of the
machine might be seriously affected.
Never attempt to modify or repair the machine in a manner not approved by Samsung

About Safety
For correct and safe operation of this machine, regulations and instructions related to
safety mentioned in this manual should be always observed.
The basic points to be observed while in operating this machine are as follows:
Repair and maintenance of this machine not contained in this manual shall be
performed by the authorized company service personnel. No repair and
maintenance should be done by customers on his or her own. Unexpected
accidents may occur.
Do not insert a part of a human body (hand, head, etc.) within the range of
motion of the driving part during the operation of this machine. That can lead to
personal injury.
Hand should be placed on the operation panel or near the EMG switch
(emergency stop switch) of the teaching box while teaching or operating the
machine so that the machine can be stopped on short notice in case of an
emergency.
Do not use the machine where inflammable gas is present or contamination is
severe.
Cautions to be exercised for the safety are described as follows in this manual.

Safety Precaution
Following labels described in each section are attached on specific position of this
machine. Follow the instructions on each label for operating this machine safely. If a label
has come off or has damaged, put a new one on a proper position referring to the
following figures. For ordering a new label or offering any comment, questions, please
contact to the business department or the C/S Company (STS) designated by Samsung
Techwin Co., Ltd..

Do not put a hand in during operation.
Part where this label is attached contains
moving parts, it is very dangerous if the user
disassembles any part or open the cover when
the moving part is maneuvering.
Stop the machine before servicing.

a serious damage to the head area.
