2.9 Residual Safety Risks
Safety Hazard Risk Area
A high risk crushing hazard is created
by the movement of the conveyor. DO
NOT reach into the conveyor while the
system is operating. Keep hands away
from this area unless the system power
is off.
Serious eye injury may occur by staring
directly at the UV light. DO NOT bypass
the safety interlock. DO NOT open the
hood while the UV light is on. Wear
protective goggles when using the UV
light. See 2.4.3 Ultraviolet Radiation.
A high risk burn hazard is created by
the UV light. Keep hands away from
this area unless the system power is off
and UV lights have cooled.

2.10 Emergency Shutdown
In the event of an emergency or malfunction, press the E-Stop button. The UV-9 Cure Module has two E-
Stop buttons. The E-Stop buttons are the large red buttons located on the operator’s front control panel
and one at the rear of the oven (Figure 2-5). Activating the E-Stop immediately halts conveyor movement
and turns off the UV lamp.
WARNING! CAUTION!
The E-Stop buttons do not cut power to the equipment. Do not restart the
equipment until the condition that caused the emergency shutdown has been
corrected. Failure to comply could cause serious injury to the user and/or serious
damage to the oven.
TIP If the operator or technician is unable to reach the E-Stop button, the Main Circuit
Breaker (Figure 2-5), which is located on the back of the system, can be used for
emergency shutdown.
