1.5.3 Standard for component tape

IEC standards
The component tape must comply with IEC 60286-3(JIS C 0806-3). The followings are excerpts from IEC
standards for reference.

Component must not come out from any of tape surfaces.
Component can be picked up vertically from the pocket without mechanical limitations after removing
cover tape.

Adhesive for cover tape must not adverse to mechanical and electrical peculiarity and indication of
component.

Component must not adhere to a carrier tape or cover tape.

Cover tape must not be delaminated.

Cover tape must not protrude from the edges of carrier tape.

Trailer is component tape without component covered with cover tape which length is 160 mm
or longer.
When a component tape is pulled out and the end is moved away from a reel, the component tape must
be separated from reel hub. (IEC 60286-3 7.1.2) (JIS C 0806-3)

JEITA standard (Paper tape specifications for Auto loading feeder)
It is recommended to use a tape package complying with JEITA ET-7105 for the effective use of Auto
loading feeder. The following is an excerpt from JEITA requirements and sizes of paper tape packages
available for Auto loading feeder.

The cover tape adhesive for Auto loading feeder is the heat sealing type only.

Required specification of trailer maximum length
It is desirable that trailer maximum length for Auto loading feeder is 300 mm or less.
