2.8 Intended use
The system is a multi-zone conveyor oven and can be used for reflow sol-
dering and for drying.
It can be configured in a diversity of ways and when delivered is tailored to
the requirements agreed between the customer and Rehm Thermal Sys-
tems.
The system may only be deployed for the applications it is intended for in the
technical specifications and only in line with the requirements agreed with
Rehm Thermal Systems.
Adherence to the ambient conditions stipulated is a requirement. Operating
parameters must be selected so as to be within the ranges specified.
The system is not intended to be used in environments with a potentially ex-
plosive atmosphere. It can, however, have a partial potentially explosive at-
mosphere inside.
The outlet air extractor provided by the customer must be working perfectly.
All guard doors and lockable cabinet doors must be locked during Produc-
tion mode. All protective devices must work.
The system may only be used in conjunction with third party devices and
components recommended and/or approved by Rehm Thermal Systems.
Only use original spare parts and authorised accessories from Rehm Ther-
mal Systems GmbH. The use of other parts compromises safety and can
nullify liability for resultant consequences.
The customer may make no alterations to the machine controller. Modifica-
tions to the system must be agreed with the manufacturer, and are only per-
mitted when express consent in writing is given.
The screw joints of the hoses must be checked for leaks before the system
is switched on.
The fill level of the used material container must be checked before the sys-
tem is switched on. The fill level of the used material container must be mon-
itored during operation. This is the responsibility of the owner.
When working on different materials, the owner must ensure that the mate-
rial mix generated (in the used material container for example) does not
cause any dangerous chemical or thermal reactions.
Note!
This system has been built in line with generally applicable codes of
practice and occupational health and safety and accident prevention
regulations, such that it presents no danger to the operator when used as
intended.
Rehm Thermal Systems assumes no liability for damage caused by non-
intended use.

Operating Instructions
Version 1.5
The smooth and safe operation of the system presupposes proper transpor-
tation, storage, installation and assembly, as well as careful operation and
adherence to inspection and servicing intervals.
2.8.1 Foreseeable wrong uses
• Not operating the system within the ambient conditions permitted or oper-
ating it in a potentially explosive atmosphere.
• Bypassing protective systems when in operation.
2.8.2 Electromagnetic compatibility - EMC
The plant is designed for use in an industrial environment. The design and
construction are state of the art to ensure that no electromagnetic interfer-
ence will occur when used as intended. When used as intended, the plant
will be adequately protected from predictable electromagnetic interference
in operation.

2.9 Safety Devices
2.9.1 Overview of important safety devices
• Indicator lamp with acoustic signal on top of the system.
• Electric master switch on the control cabinet.
• Pneumatic maintenance unit with main valve for cutting off the pneumatic
energy supply, with bleed valve and with manometer for adjusting the op-
erating pressure.
• EMERGENCY STOP buttons.
• Lockable control cabinet doors and doors on the system.
• After being removed, the collection tray must be refitted and screwed back
into place.
• Access restriction with password protection on the screen (with graduated
security levels).
• Key switch (optional) on the operator console for switching from Automatic
to Service mode.
• Flow meter on the outlet air extractor (as standard).
• Earthing cables on all doors and other installation parts prevent sparks
due to electrostatic discharge inside the system.
• Electrical fuses.
