2.9.3 Emergency-Stop Buttons
The emergency-stop buttons have red tops, and snap into the selected
position after actuation. When an emergency-stop button is actuated, the
corresponding switching contact in the safety circuit opens, and the
emergency-stop relay is tripped.
The following functions are switched on for safety reasons:
• PC (for control)
• Fan in the control cabinet (for cooling)
• Heating Fans >90°C
Emergency-Stop appears at the display in the alarm window.
2.9.4 RCCBs
With facility provided RCCB please use only the following type:
• AC/DC sensitive RCCB Type B 300mA.
2.9.5 Auto-Start-Switch
The auto-start-switch is a software button which appears in the main win-
dow. See also Fig. 5-10, Main Window‚ on page 82, item M.
The drive unit, the heat and compressed air (optional) can be turned on
(auto-on) or off (auto-off) simultaneously with this switch.
If the nitrogen will be switched on or switched off depends from the activated
software.
2.9.6 Operating Mode Selector Switch
The system can be set to either the service mode or automatic operation
with the operating mode selector switch.
The automatic operating mode is used when the system is operated under
normal circumstances. The heating chamber and the cooling tract are
closed. The following functions are disabled for safety reasons: “open/close
heat chamber”, “open/close cooling tract” and “reset load”.
The service mode is selected when maintenance, setup and repairs are
necessary.

2.10 Locking the System and Attaching Warning Signs
Before maintenance or service work is performed on the system, it must be
secured against possible start-up, and appropriate warning signs must be
attached.
Note!
This procedure includes minimum requirements for locking the system and
attaching warning signs before beginning maintenance and service work.
Additionally required safety precautions may be specified by the work
safety department, the safety inspector, the safety committee and the
employee health department.

2.10.1 Procedure
If you have to power off the system, please always follow the below-de-
scribed proceeding.
1. Instruct all employees affected in the working area.
2. Switch off the system. Please proceed to the standard switching off.
3. Five definite safety rules for working in de-energized state (according to
DIN VDE 0105):
– disconnect the system:
– prevent unintentional restart. (Attention! Tension between mains fil-
ter and main switch.)!
– deenergize (Attention! Frequency converter stores electric energy).
– earth and short-circuit.
– make sure that surrounding system parts under voltage are covered
and protected against touching.
4. Lock the system.
– Lock the mains switch with a padlock.
– Attach warning signs if locking is not possible.
Employees are thus informed that the system has been shut down for
the performance of service work. The sign must be securely attached.
It must be legible from all sides, and may only be removed by the per-
son who attached it.
5. Release all stored energy.
Stored energy in the coolant water circuit and electrical energy in
electrolytic capacitors must be released through the implementation of
appropriate measures. After switching the system off, wait for
approximately two minutes, after which work can be safely performed
on the system.
The following steps must be completed in order to once again prepare the
system for operation:
1. Inspect the work area: Make sure that authorized personnel have
removed all utilized tools, and that all safety devices are reactivated.
2. Inform all personnel in the effected area that the system will be started
back up again.
Warning!
During operation, the system may only be switched off with the mains
switch in the event of an emergency.
Shut down the operating system properly before switching the system off.
If the system is switched off during operation without first properly shutting
down the operating system, the cool-down cycle is not activated and the
system, as well as the PC, may be damaged.
